Pics From Our Cruise!

Hilarious to think that we went from this one day…(the day before we left)

…to this the next week. Ahhhhhh!

Joe and I on the chartered bus from his workplace. Want a scary experience? Imagine a big bus slip-n-slidin’ on ice for a 4 hour drive on a one lane road with on-coming traffic sliding too. That was NOT something I would like to experience EVER again! (pretty sure I was in constant communication with God during that entire drive). But we were on our way! 02 february 2011 053

Our next excursion: the Isla Pasion by Twister in Cozumel. FREAKING AWESOME.

Our speed boat to the island (It did 360’s and was super fast! I LOVED it!)

This island was absolutely amazing and completely secluded. We were the only ones on the island! (our group)

I had never pinned Joe for liking BINGO- but I’m pretty sure he didn’t miss a game while on board. Huge nerd. Winking smile

Last night on our vacay…having a blast with my BFF.

I even summoned the courage to sing some karaoke for the first time in my life while Joe tore up the dance floor! It was hilarious.

02 february 2011 190-1

We had SO much fun. A HUGE thanks to all the peeps at Joe’s work who made this trip possible. And to the army of people it took to watch our kids: Ed, Jess, Dan, Dani, Ashley, Liz, Tempe, and Ladelle….we love you and appreciate you, more than you will ever know.

My 3 year old is my HERO

...Yep, she SURE is. Savannah was SO BRAVE today- such a big girl. I wasn't sure how she would do---being so much older now. She can understand so much more about her body, etc. She still isn't fond of the idea of surgical intervention---but she weighs more now and can get more "giggle juice" beforehand, which DEFINITELY helped!

Sav got super loopy and didn't even realize that the nurse had rolled her out of the room while I quietly froze and "became one with the wall". If she "lost it"...she did not do it in front of me- yelling: "Mama!!!!! Maaamaaaaa! Why won't you get me? Why are you letting them hurt me?!!!"

Savannah loses it = Mama loses it

and that didn't happen today! Yaaaaaaay!

The hardest part was saying bye to Joe this morning- as we both teared up. It is KILLING him not to be here. :(

Thank God for my parents who drove in late last night and stayed with my bro- so they could be here for us this morning at the hospital. *(I would not let anyone step one foot inside our FLU INFESTED HOUSE)* And a special thanks to sweet Tempe and Rodney who stopped by to be with us today. You are an absolute blessing.

Here is Savi once we got to our room. OUT FOR THE COUNT! Lol

My bestie, Lizzie-poo, came to stay with me all afternoon. God love her. She has been at the hospital for every one of Sav's surgeries (and some of her icky kidney tests as well). WE LOVE YOU AUNTIE LIZ! You mean the world to me.

And here is the latest picture of Sav- will not let that balloon out of her site. Yep---this gal LOVES her balloons!

God love her.

She did not get sick- aside from one dry heaving incident after her long and windy ride up to her postop room- thank the LORD. (Sav, her Granna, and I have been genetically cursed with the severe postop nausea and vomiting gene).

Savannah woke up to watch TWO, mind you, TWO rounds of Tinkerbell- The Great Escape, per her request. Now, she is down for the count. Praying that she (and I) will get SOME sleep tonight.

On that note, I'm going to curl up here on this *oh-so-comfy* mattress and try to grab some shut eye. I know I'll eventually end up in her hospital bed with her, and that suits me just fine.

I love this girl, I do.

Savi Steece...my hero.

Bad Blogger, Good Excuses ;)

SUCH a bad blogger!!!

Joe and I went on our cruise from Feb. 5-10th! It was amazing- lots of pics to post.

THE DAY we returned home, I came down with the flu (type A) and it hit me like a freight train. LIKE A FRIGGIN' FREIGHT TRAIN. I was in bed for 4 straight days and it is lingering now. I tell you---I have NEVER been this sick in my life. Can I get an AMEN from anyone else out there who has had it???

and yes- we all had the flu shot...both of them.

Well, Ethan now has the full blown flu- type A and Ben is battling a bacterial infection. All 4 kids have been placed on Tamiflu and Joe is getting his Rx this morning! JUST IN CASE...

AND- today is the day of Savannah's kidney surgery. In fact, I am writing this in the waiting room as I wait to hear word from her operating room. She was an absolute trooper! She did SOOOOO well this morning. My brave little rockstar. No screaming or crying when they took her away from me, into the OR.

I will update you when I know more. I will be spending the night with Sav here in the hospital tonight, while Joe is on "nurse duty" at home with the sickies. He is admistering breathing treatments and dispensing meds around the clock- poor guy!

Thanks SO MUCH for all of your prayers and well wishes. I love you from the bottom of my heart.

We had SO much fun playing in the snow this morning! I’ll let the pictures do the talking!
