Perioperative Nurses

I started my new job last week and I LOVE it! I work for a nurse staffing agency called: Perioperative Nurses. It's a local agency here in the DFW area that only staffs operating room personnel. I make my own hours, work only when I want to, I can say where I want to go...it's SOOOOO nice! "Contracted" nurses who work for staffing agencies make about $10+ more an hour than "full-time" employees. I'm on Joe's benefits, so it works out perfectly for us! More money, less responsibility! What more could I ask for?? I love going to new facilities and learning new procedures and equipment, so I'm really enjoying it!

And, I've never had to purchase my own scrubs before. No longer are they the old, box-y, "make-you-look-20-pounds-heavier" type of scrubs...they are adorable! Check out some of my most recent purchases!

Cute, huh?

Waiting for Joe...

This was the cutest thing I saw today, so I had to blog about it. I had been on the computer checking various things and had not heard Shiloh in a while. I went back to my bedroom to see what she had gotten in to: she had pulled her bed all the way from the corner of the room and positioned it perfectly in front of the window where she could lay and look out the blinds to wait for her dad to come home...She was just staring out that window, without hardly blinking. She is precious! When she sees Joe park the car in the lot, she runs to the front door, sits whimpering (as if she is sitting on hundreds of hot, burning coals), and wags her tail (picture a boat propeller swishing through the water at 305 mph)!...TOO CUTE!

(by the way, the small, brown, object on the floor in front of the window would be Shiloh's bone!...JUUUUUST in case a couple of you were getting nervous!) ;)

Just look at that face!

St. Louis

We had SO much fun getting together! I LOVE these girls so much and miss them like crazy. Alisha brought her adorable 6 month old son, Noah from Virginia. Maurine had her 10 day old baby, Hannah out and about with us (from St. Louis)...needless to say, I got a LOT of baby practice! I can put a baby/child in a carseat, and load it into a car like it was nothin'! (Those of you who do this everyday can understand what an accomplishment it is for the first time! I was proud of myself) :) Sonya drove in from Nashville and Jess flew all the way in from California! We just hung out and had lots of "girl talk" the whole time. It was WONDERFUL! I miss you guys! See you next year...in TEXAS!!! YAE! ;)

Nursing Reunion '06

I'm flying to St. Louis, MO tomorrow for our annual nurses' reunion with my buddies from nursing school! We all became very close during nursing school - that's all we did: eat, drink, sleep, nursing school! It's a good thing we all get along so well! ha! We rotate to everyone's houses each year and this year we are staying at Maurine's. (We all live in different states around the country!! sad that i never get to see them) The graduation pic (December 2002) is of me and one of my best friends, Maurine (who just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Hannah last week!) I can't wait to meet miss Hannah!

I missed the reunion last year, but here is a picture from 2004 when we went to "Hollywood" ;)

It's that time again...

okay, so is anyone else's husband psycho when it comes to fantasy football? guess what joe was doing this weekend... every year, the boys (all 14 of them) get together and hold an annual fantasy football draft. it's crazy! this year joe invested in a big, heavy, $60 football trophy, complete with brass tags to apply for the winner of the championship every year (pictured are jason reeves and ed steece, previous winners). the winner gets to proudly display the trophy in their house until next season (yae! how fun right? any wife would love to place this over her fireplace, i'm sure!) this other pic is of their draft board. sad to say, joe has held on to every one of them from the previous years. (crazy!)

Last Day of Work, Brother's 30 B-day, New beginnings in Arlington

My pictures are messing up, so i'm having to do this all backward!

Sorry, I had the hardest time trying to download these pics! These pictures are from my very last day at First Street Surgical Center in Houston (7/28). Dr. Chahahdeh (in the striped long sleeve button down) gave me a big going away party at El Tiempo. Some of the pictures are hazy due to the large fan misters...I'm going to miss these people like crazy! (Beware, FRIZZ everywhere! It was SO incredibly HOT & HUMID! Two things I definitely WONT miss about H-town!)

Joe had been living in Arlington, while i finished out my last week of work! He flew in to come to my party! I was SO happy to see him walk thru that door! ;)

The day after my party, we packed up the rest of my apartment and headed to Waco for my brother's 30th birthday party. They drove in from Memphis, TN. It was great fun and good times. I LOVE these pictures!
(Here's two of my most favorite people in the world!)
