I'm a SCARY new neighbor!

Okay, so how freaked out would you be to see THIS vagabond moving in next door to you??? HA!!!...Jeez...nice PINK gloves, ARMY GREEN coat (from like 1995), and MAROON & WHITE aTm scarf! (and don't forget the ponytail on the very top of my head) NERD!



Seriously though, I was SOOO cold going in and out and in and out of the house/apartment that I just started throwing on anything warm that I could find! I LAUGH when I look at these pictures! I couldn't find any of my winter caps/hats...(wait a minute...who am I kiddin'??? where I come from it NEVER got this cold! I don't have any!) So, I took a scarf and made it into a tobaggin instead! ha!

By the way, I get SUPER cranky when I'm cold! I absolutely HATE cold weather--let me re-phrase...I hate BEING in cold weather. I LOVE cuddling up with a blanket INSIDE by a fire, when its cold outside...but other than that, I would probably curl up in a ball and die if I had to spend more than 5 minutes outside in freezing cold, windy, sleeting weather! (I warned Joe before we got married that I would NEVER live in MINNESOTA where all of his family is from! THAT would be a "deal-breaker" for me...but I guess, never say never, right?) ;)

BRING ON MY SCALDING HOT, HUMID, TEXAS HEAT WAVE ANY DAY!!! I EMBRACE IT WITH OPEN ARMS!!! ;)

Pop Open the Bubbly!

YAY!!! Joe and I, for the first time in our lives, are officially HOMEOWNERS! We are SO super excited!!! The seller will be out tomorrow morning at 7:00am! I can't wait to walk through MY HOUSE for the 1st time! Too bad this weather is CRAZY terrible!...It will be loads of fun to move this Saturday while raining, sleeting, snowing, etc!

Oh, and this was our gift from our real estate agent! A very nice (big) bottle of champagne to celebrate during our first night at our house! (Too bad I don't like champagne, but I LOVE peach bellinis which are made with champagne...so, I need to figure out how to make them!)

The closing process was SO painless! I've heard horror stories from different people about closings not going right and having to come back the next day, etc. The whole thing lasted one hour! We had a really good real estate agent and lender who were ON THE BALL! Anywhoo...this is me holding the key to MY HOUSE! ;) (a nerd, i know...but SO excited!)


You better believe that I'll have more pictures soon! (Just as cheezy!) Pictures of me and Joe out to dinner tonight, celebrating...pictures of Shiloh running in her backyard...etc...oh yes...they're coming! ;)

CLOSING DAY BUMMER

Got a call this morning that no one can get to the title company office due to road conditions...HUGE BUMMER. They will call back later if they think we can do an early afternoon closing... :(

Peanut Butter Pie

Mmmmmm...SO good! Yesterday at work, I was thumbing through the Jan 2007 issue of Southern Living and found this recipe for some sort of peanut butter and chocolate pie. I think it was a winner in a bake-off or something. Anywhoo, it is ridiculous-good! If you want the recipe, I apologize...as I'm writing this, I realize that I packed up all of my cookbooks and recipes today. But check out the magazine in the store if you'd like! I just thought it looked so pretty and wanted to share! The salty peanuts on the top really make the pie POP! It's kind-of sad when I bake things, b/c we can never finish it all by ourselves (so we end up throwing a lot of it away)...but I LOVE to bake! It's therapeutic for me!

QUESTION...

So, we close on our house this coming up Wednesday morning...we've never done this before, and I was wondering if you are supposed to get your real estate agent a gift. Now, I know she's making crazy commission anyway, but do you go ahead and get a gift as well?

If so...any suggestions? Did any of you get your real estate agent a gift?

Okay, so this is my: "sorry-i've-been-such-a-bad-blogger-please-forgive-me-i-promise-it-will-get-better-soon" face.

I just got home from work and realized that I really haven't blogged very much lately with the holidays and such. Life is crazy for me right now. We are getting closer to closing on our house and getting everything ready for that.

It seems like within the past couple of months, God is trying His hardest to teach Joe and I lessons in life...we are just having a hard time trying to figure out what those lessons are. So, I promise to post more when my life slows down a little bit and when my sight becomes more clear. Until then, type on my friends! I enjoy reading all of your posts!

New Years Eve Pics

We all wanted to keep it really low key this year, so we themed a New Years Eve Pajama Party! My brother and sis-in-law were in town visiting her sis that lives here, and my cousins drove down from Oklahoma. We had a grand 'ole time!

The boys were playing on the new Nintendo Wii. (which is pretty cool, I must say!) Everything is interactive with a cordless wand. The game picks up your sensor with bluetooth and infrared technology. For example, when you are playing tennis, all you do is swing your wand like a racket to hit the ball, just like you would in real life. VERY COOL.

This is me dancing with my cousin pup. He's ENORMOUS! If he were standing up straight, his head would be at my chin! Yeah, he's not liking the dancing very much in this pic!
