Before my kids could even walk, they were splashing around in a swimming pool.
We are ALL water babies in this family and LOOOOVE to be outside swimming.
If we lived close to a beach, we would be there every, single week! No doubt.
We were ecstatic to move into a new house with our very own swimming pool last year! I could not keep my kids out of it!
And if you are familiar with our little fam, then you have probably noticed that our skin turns about 10 shades darker during the summer months (thanks to Mom's Cherokee heritage). This picture is from last year's birthday party in August. Our 4 kiddos are the dark brown babies in the back.
It doesn't matter that I drown these kids in SPF 50... it's just the way it is. Not to mention that days upon days in the pool water and sun can cause their delicate skin to become rough, dry and itchy.
Their skin would be so dry and ashy that the pediatrician would comment on it at every yearly appointment. So, I decided to find the best lotion possible for my babies.
Curél® Itch Defense® Lotion works wonders on our skin. Immediately after applying, my skin feels refreshed and rehydrated without being too oily (that is a HUGE turn off for me when using a lotion). My children get lathered up after every shower and their skin stays soft, smooth, and moist for at least 24 hours.
NO MORE ALLIGATOR BABIES!
Reasons we use Curél® Itch Defense® Lotion:
1. It instantly relieves dry, itchy skin, controlling flareups while rebalancing skin to prevent future irritation from occurring
2. The safe and effective formula soothes eczema-prone skin
3. The formula is safe and gentle enough for babies and children six months and up
4. The formula is available at drugstores nationwide
5. It’s fragrance-free, dermatologist, allergist and pediatrician tested, and has received the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance
In other words, this product is legit.
So, if you are looking for a way to feel better about your skin (and the skin of your little ones) try Curél® Itch Defense® Lotion. It will protect and relieve dry/itchy skin so that you can enjoy those fun summer activities.

LOVE Curel! I have aligator skin too, and this is the only lotion I will use now!!!
ReplyDeleteWe love vaseline! We apply to kids after showers to help keep skin from being overly dry!
ReplyDeleteWe beat summer skin irritation with baby lotion. but I will have to try Curel now! I'm all about affordable lotions that work.
ReplyDeleteWe use a lot of Hempz lotion. It's expensive but so worth it. Two of the boys have very sensitive skin and it's the only lotion I've found that doesn't cause any irritation to their skin.

We use Eucerin but I am willing to try something new!
ReplyDeleteI also found that nightly baths to get off all the sunscreen we slather on is necessary for keeping my kids rash free.
So far we are just using up baby lotion that we have around. I'll admit that I rarely put lotion on my 1 year olds but will probably need to start as they get older.
ReplyDeleteI wear and make my kids wear SPF whenever we are outdoors. I love lotions too, but never get the kids to try them.

I've been using Curel for a very long time, but just started using the Itch Defense lotion since November to combat winter dry skin. Curel Foot Therapy is what I use in the summer when my heels get dry from wearing flip-flops or walking barefoot. Great stuff!
ReplyDeleteWe love aquaphore but it's so greasy.. can't wait to try out curel :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to try this! When my son gets really dry or irritated skin, oatmeal baths help tremendously.
ReplyDeleteLove curel
ReplyDeleteLotion for sure!
ReplyDeleteI slather on sunscreen and keep it lubricated; my skin is so dry, it can be unbearably itchy if I don't and too much sun exposure makes it worse.

ReplyDeleteMy MIL was a believer in Curel - so it has just come naturally....never have thought of using anything else. Don't get me wrong, I use other lotions, but not for the "dry itchy" spells, so we just always have it on hand!
ReplyDeleteI love Curel, it's really helping me this season
ReplyDeleteNow that I have a little boy that's old enough to get in the pool, we do a lot of swimming! Gotta apply that lotion daily to keep his skin baby soft!
ReplyDeleteI exfoliate with body wash and a loofah daily to keep my skin fresh and use lots of lotions and aloe. I also apply sunscreen before going outdoors.

My children have very sensitive skin as well and suffer from eczema regularly. In the dryer weather I up the moisturizer, using heavy ointment type options as well as using as natural of products as possible. This helps to prevents further irritation.
ReplyDeleteMoisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!! Nonstop lotioning, I can almost hear the voice from Silence of the Lambs "It rubs the lotion on its skin!" I also exfoliate on a regular basis, but up it from once a week to twice a week during the Summer.
