I HEART Houston

We drove to Houston last week to visit all of our great friends that we left behind. I kid you not...as we drove into town, tears were streaming down my face! Joe was depressed as well. Our hearts ache for Houston. It was SOOOO good driving around where we used to live and eating at all of our favorite places! (There are SO many...you know, like the non-chain, mom-n-pop restaurants) It was FANTASTIC! We never thought we would miss Houston as much as we do...but it represents so many things: wonderful time as newlyweds, great old friends, incredible new friends, great places to eat...just a wonderful time in our lives.

These pics are from when I went back to where I used to work. I miss everyone SO MUCH! I don't have a "work family" now, b/c I work agency and go to so many different places...so, these people will always be my second family! I miss them terribly!
(once again, in a "bunny-suit" b/c I didn't have scrubs on)

I know exactly how you feel. Dallas represents the newlywed years to us, and we ache a little (it gets better with time) when we go back. It takes a while to build up a home, friends, work family, but it'll come!

I know it will definitely be hard to move away from our real first home. Not exactly looking forward to it, but change is bound to happen (I guess). It took us a little bit to get use to Memphis, but after awhile we found our nitch. It is nice though that you don't have to travel a great distance to go back and visit old friends:)

S-
We fell the exact same way when we go to College Station and I cry everytime. We were there last weekend, and my favorite parts also include eating at all of our Bryan/College Station restaurants, visiting old co-workers who are also like my 2nd family, and getting to see our old Sunday school friends whom we miss terribly! CS was our newlywed home, as well. You are definitely not alone in missing your old residence!!!

I know how you feel. When I lived in Nashville, it killed me coming back to Georgia to visit. I cried every time I left to go back to TN and one time I cried when I hit the TN state line because I hated it so much. But, you can still make wonderful memories at your new town and have a great place to go visit old friends. Just think, one day you'll think of your new town as another exciting time in your life- and there will be more happy memories to come home too as each day passes! Love you, Suz!
