Oh Ben...

We have SOOOO much footage that looks exactly like this...all babies are playing/awake/crying...and then there is Ben...

Ben is his father's child...can fall asleep anywhere, anytime, ANY circumstance

So, I'm not 100% BAD MOM, I PROMISE that I picked up poor baby Drew IMMEDIATELY after I quit taping! (they hate their bumbo seats)

also, I'll have to put video on here of Ben doing his "tummy time"...LOVE the kid...but he is BY FAR, the laziest little baby I have ever seen! It is so funny! He hates picking up his head and will just lay on the floor and fall asleep on his tummy, if we would let him. He is definitely on his OWN time schedule (hates going to sleep, would rather play at night, and wakes up VERY early..."our little morning alarm clock usually"...crying, just because he wants to play! BUT, during the day, he does NOT want to stay awake! He's always trying to sleep during play time...henceforth, the picture below...)

Oh.......my little-big Ben.....such a character!

I find that funny because Ben is just sleeping away totally unaware of what is going on. I wish my son would sleep through things like that but he does not. Love reading your blog and the updates on the quads.

  2. Totally cracked me up!! LOL!! I wonder if this lazy/will sleep through anything has anything to do with being the largest of the multiples? Our big guy Elijah is the exact same way- we put him in his jumperoo and within minutes he's snoozin away, LOL.

Oh, and my babies hate the bumbo too. :p

  6. Hi! I think I linked to your site through Sandi, but I don't really remember. Anyway, I've been keeping up with your stories, and I think you're doing great! It's great to see your little guys (and girl) thriving after starting out so tiny! And great job decorating the cranial bands - I don't think I'd have thought of that!

  9. Yep, crying tears of laughter here too. Ben has really adjusted to life with 3 siblings, huh? He does look like Joe!

As a mom with a 5-year old addicted to Funniest Home Videos, this is one that'd make it to the finals.

Thanks for the laughter this morning. I'm sure I'll play it more than once throughout the day. It's great!

I couldn't help noticing the Ben's sleeping mouth in the video matches EXACTLY his sleeping newborn mouth in the photo in your sidebar! He's a sweetie.

  16. I do not think you could ever reach the bad mom area! The video was so funny! I guess having three other babies around him who area screaming does not phase Ben at all!

  17. with your NICU experience and amazing faith in our Father, I thought you might enjoy this blog and I know the family would appreciate your prayers. cfhusband.blogspot.com glad to see your precious babies are doing so well!

  18. I totally agree that tape should be forwarded to Funny Home Videos! You aren't being a bad mom letting the babies cry a few minutes. Good grief! Any mother of multiples know that there are just times you can't make everybody happy! Especially (4) 5 1/2 month old babies!

You are doing a great job and don't let anyone tell you any different!

    Love ya!

  20. How Cute! One of mine would sleep through anything and sleep anywhere. Madyson was the one always crying and I think the boys just learned to tune her out. They are just so cute, even when they are crying.

  21. That is too funny! Sometimes you just have to document with pictures or video for memories even when they are crying. I wonder if Ben will keep that little personality charteristic of falling asleep anywhere as he gets older. If you think about it, it is a good defense mechanism:)

  22. That is classic! One of my little guys can sleep anywhere, anytime like that. You must send a copy of that to AFV!

Just so totally precious! My son would fall asleep jumping in his jumparoo! And the kicker was- he would start jumping while sleeping if you tried to take him out of it. Like, "who me? asleep? come on i was just resting my eyes!" So funny!

Reader in Ohio here...I noticed in the comments someone directed you to cfhusband.blogspot...I've been reading it as well...You will enjoy it...if you have time to read it.... :) He is an AMAZING man (as is his wife....)BTW, my oldest (almost 10) STILL sleeps through anything, anytime, anywhere. We would probably not wake for a fire/tornado/earthquake, etc. (and has slept through the beginnings of a hurricane while we lived in Florida!) LOVE LOVE LOVE reading your blog!! Such sweet babies!

  34. First off let me say that I am truly enjoying seeing your life through the blog, you are dear to let us all venture into your four kiddos at once! Just thought I would let you know that the bumbo seats were actually recalled earlier this year...not trying to be annoying just FYI.

  35. That video is to funny! I showed my 13yr old and he was laughing too!!! I love it!!

  36. That is one of the funniest videos I have ever seen. I think you should submit that on the Ellen show, she is always showing funny baby videos (and who knows, maybe she would want to treat you guys to some cool stuff)

I can't believe how small this blogger world is. I remember you from the Waco Girls Choir and I just saw that you and Corrie are friends as well.

That video is hilarious! Don't lose hope on the Bumbo seats, for preemies who have head control early on, they do work, but with perserverance! Maybe a Baby Einstein video, etc. can be used to help distract them. Keep up with the good work, and tummy time will pay off, despite all the tears too! I actually was taking care of a 26 weeker who has been in our NICU for a long time and she has trach, etc. and she sat in our Bumbo for almost 40 min. watching us and her mobile. She was hilarious! Praying for you.
