Where Did My Infants Go?

What a fun competition to name my blog! You guys were incredible! Well, by overwhelming majority, the winners are:

Daddio & Tiffany Norris with:

"Steece's Pieces"

and

Bree Leonard with:

"Prayed for ONE, Blessed with FOUR" (yae Bree!)

I just got the biggest kick out of reading all of the suggestions! Some made me go "awww", others made me tear up, and the majority made me laugh out loud! You guys are so creative! Thanks again for playing!

Joe and I had a great weekend for our 5 year anniversary at the Lakeway Inn Spa & Resort (where we spent our wedding night!)
I'm trying to load up more pics, but it won't let me...I think I've exceeded my picture upload quota for this post! Oh well, I'll have to do a separate one later...

I know it has been a while, and you guys for SURE don't check this blog to see how Mom and Dad are doing-ha! ;) So, I thought it was time for some new pics! I snapped these up this morning! I also want to remember things they are doing at this age, so I'm jotting down some notes...

Ethan (left) and Andrew (right)

"Don't hate us cause you are jealous of our sexy bowed legs and pigeon toes"

Sweet Drew with LOOONG eyelashes!
Drew is my baby who is full of energy! He LOVES to jump in the jumperoo. However, he has the worst reflux and spits up ALL the time. (which doesn't really go well with jumping!) He LOVES looking at lights and ceilings and fans...you get the picture. He's not a big cuddle-bug, but you can catch him in his moments--especially when he is sick-and it melts my heart! Any goofy face or noise or dancing will make him laugh and giggle nonstop. He also loves when you play with his hands and feet (like making him clap)...just giggles and giggles...Oh, and he is an eating machine! It is uncanny...We actually have to slow him down and take the bottle out or he will be finished in 2 minutes. No lie!
-------------------------------

Ethan, doesn't really like posing for cameras...he acts like he's nervous around them, so it is very hard to capture his sweet smile
Ethan is such a sweetheart. I think he is by far the most laid back and easy going. He rarely cries and always has this beautiful smile on his face that melts my heart every time. He is so observant and aware of what is going on all around him. When he gets in his jumperoo, he is very serious and has a look of concentration on his face. He LOOOOVES kisses on his cheek and neck (although he hardly EVER gets those...yeah right!) Like Drew, he will giggle and giggle when you play with his hands and feet! And the twins LOOOOVE being thrown high up into the air! Drew & Ethan can pop out that bottom lip at a moments notice and it is the funniest thing! I can't help but laugh!
-------------------------------

Little Princess and her signature pink bow

Savannah, over the past couple of weeks has been so smiley and happy and all giggles! It is so adorable. Poor thing has had her fair share of problems (pavlic harness, reflux, bladder infections), but she never lets it get her down. She amazes me. She has the tiniest little feet that step from side to side when she is in her jumperoo. She chuckles from deep down in her belly and I LOVE it! She LOVES to look at books, and checks out every single detail on any item I give her. She is so gentle and will softly put her hand on your hand/face/arm when you are feeding her, changing her diaper, or holding her. When I sing to her, she will start cooing back to me in a soft little tone...gets me every time! Oh, and she has a VERY LOUD CRY! ;)
-------------------------------

Oh, Ben...such a character
Ben, where do I even start with you? I already had Ben figured out when he was in my womb! He is exactly the same...I can't really explain it well. Ben is a charmer and is laid back--WHEN HE WANTS TO BE! TALK ABOUT A LOUD CRY! SHEESH! He is very strong and already stands with little help. His legs are so strong because he goes CRAZY in his jumperoo...sometimes I think he is going to jump through the ceiling! He is very aggressive with his toys and loves to pull/tug/throw/jerk/squeeze anything he can get his hands on. He has taught his brothers and sister to SCREAM/SQUEAL at the top of their lungs for whatever: when happy, bored, sad, upset, wanting attention, etc. It is so funny. He is SUCH a cuddle-bug and LOVES attention.

I've been thinking about when these rugrats start crawling and walking (gulp) and getting into trouble! Here is how I suspect it will go down:

Ben will be the one to come up with an idea that will get him in trouble...
Ethan will be the one to plan out exactly how it will go down...
Drew will be the hench man who physically carries out the plan...
and Savannah (hopefully) will be the one to come tell mommy what the boys are up to!

Every day is an adventure with these rascals and I love them more and more!

Hello.... I just have to tell you that I love reading your blog. I'm a member of PAMOM (have b/g twins who will be two in April) and someone gave me your blog info when you helped out with the Gerwer Quad's mom... Anyway, your children are adorable and I loved reading about each of their little personalities. You seem to have it all under control (which is so impressive because even twins wear me out!!!) Keep up the good work!!

It is so blatantly obvious that you are a wonderful mommy. I love the notes you wrote about each sweet little Steece being their own person... and how you just love their little personalities! That is why we love them too! Great pics... won't we all be so thankful down the road for all we've written and captured in the blogworld?! I'm not a big scrapbooker or journal writer, so I am thankful God has given me this outlet to get it all down! :) Thanks for sharing!

VERY fun post. I love hearing about their little personalities! And man, have they grown or what? The twins are SOOOOOO cute....all of them are, but E and Drew are just doll babies!!!

What a fun post! Thanks so much! Love all the new pictures. I remember looking at my boy/girl twins after birth at the way they moved their legs and I knew EXACTLY which one of them [both were breech] had been tap-dancing on my cervix! I know exactly what you meant about Ben. It is uncanny.

Found your blog through a friends...they are truly a blessing....I have a question though that actually was prompted after reading about the couple in NY who had identical triplets!!
Two of your boys are identical right? Do you ever have (do you still at times when things are crazy) have a hard time keeping those two straight?

Suzanne said...

anon- good question! they are looking more and more alike! more than anything, i can tell just by the way they look at me. they act VERY different with their mannerisms etc. but i'm not gonna lie, about a week ago when joe and i were getting the quads out of bed for their 6am feeding, for some reason we had BOTH thought that the child he brought out was E when in fact, it was Drew! If all else fails, E has a little red birthmark on his right middle finger!

I will pray for little Sav, and hope that all goes well with her surgery.
Your babies are beautiful. My friend Jen and I check on them daily!

I was so excited to see your comment, it may as well been Jennifer Aniston sending me a comment, to me I feel like you are famous. LOL

Best wishes and lots of prayers for your entire family.

Congrats on the new blog design and name. Very, very cool. And, hey, I was happy to see my suggestion made the top 3. ;-)

Funny that you mention how Ben is the same as he was in the womb. It was the same with my girls. (They were positioned so they kicked each other in the head. Things haven't changed much, except now they can yell at each other too.) Crazy.

now, for future reference...HYLAND TEETHING TABLETS are the little things we give mr. t. however, on the really tough toofer nights, only motrin will suffice...yours will get there very soon so they can take motrin. don't worry though, i think i have a particularly moody toofer man...hopefully your 4 will not all be like him ;) ;)

heart you lots.

Their blog address is http://arnoldquads.blogspot.com/

This is one of my favorites of all your blog posts. I love those smiles and learning more about their personalities. They are just amazing!

Unknown said...

Those HUGE smiles and gorgeous eyes!! How can you not love them to pieces! Two things in your post stood out to me. (1) about how Ben is just like he was in the womb. My two are just like they were before too - my little man is calm and quiet and my daughter is feisty and she was ALWAYS kicking and moving around in my belly. (2) the other thing is how you imagine them to get into trouble. In my future I totally picture this phone call from their principal: "Mrs O, I have your twins in my office for (fill in the blank)." When I get there, Sarah will be sitting there, twirling her hair and giggling and Jacob will be crying saying "Mommy! She made me do it!" ha!

Leah said...

I just love reading your blogs! My little boy is just 5 days younger than your babies, and now I'm having twins! Due in September! I'm so nervous about have two newborn babies and one who is just learning to walk! It's very scary to think about! They will be 1 year and 1 month apart (almost exactly). But, your blog looks so cute, and your babies are even CUTER!

Your blog, especially today's post, is a ray of sunshine in my day! I am inspired by your zest for life. Your kids are BEAUTIFUL and Ben has stolen my heart. I know it's not nice to play favorites, but every picture of him just melts me! God bless you for blessing me! Thanks, Miranda Allen

THEY ARE TOO DARN CUTE!! I just want to hop on a plane and hug 'um and kiss 'um!!! I miss that stage so much sometimes. From this point on they will grow and change before your eyes DAILY! As much as I miss the "baby" stage I have to tell you that it only get's better. Ya, my kids are NUTS.. and spread poop on the walls, climb all the furniture, and keep me on my toes 24/7. But they also say things like "I wuv you!" It just doesn't get better than that! Even right now.. they should be taking a nap.. instead they are playing "peek a boo" in their cribs.

You are GOING to love all that comes next!

XOXO

I'm a long-time blog stalker---your babies are just precious. I wanted to tell you about Babywise 2, just in case you haven't already heard about it. I've been having the hardest time training my 2nd (a boy, 11 months) to obey, etc. A friend gave me the book and like the first, it's a quick and easy read. The concepts are practical and easy to implement right away---and I'm seeing a world of difference in my little guy after just a few days. I wish I had had this book with my first because we're having to retrain for first time obedience with her. I know you're a fan of Babywise so I'm assuming you'll love the 2nd one too. It'll help you guys out for sure! Blessings on the Steece house--thanks for your blogging. I love watching your adorable babies grow and change. Whew! Long comment...sorry!

I babysat a set of triplets beginning when they were 5. 2 boys, 1 girl.

Once the little girl was in the kitchen with me while the boys were downstairs. I asked her to go find out what they wanted on their hamburgers and she came up, reporting with a big sigh that "they're getting along and haven't wrecked the place. For once".

It was just so matter-of-fact it was funny. Poor outnumbered girls.
