Joe's early birthday present to Suz.

Heavy rain pouring down, crazy flooding, lightening crashing all around...are we going to waive the white flag and head back to safety???

HECK NO! Molly and I purchased these awesome rain boots at Academy...best $12 I've ever spent in my life!

Party on, dudes...

Found a covered area to wait out the lightening storm...it was so crazy...but we were DETERMINED to have fun!

Me and my sweetie fell in love over our passion for Dave Matthew's music! The last time we saw him perform live was 3-4 years ago....waaaaaay too long for us!

Molly and Katie trying to stay as dry as possible

"Here Comes the Sun (du du du du)" Joe and Sheedy--excited about the rain easing up for 2 seconds...looks promising!

One more picture and then we headed into the MUD-tastic venue for the show! (Oh yah--did I mention it was outside on a HUGE grassy hill? SWEETNESS!)

We had such a great time! The rain held off until the very end, when it began to POUR DOWN again...but it was so much fun and worth every article of cold, damp clothing sticking to my body! Thanks to Grandma Kate for watching all 4 quads by herself! (which is NO small feat!) One of the best birthday presents ever!

  1. AWESOMENESS!!! Looks like ya'll had a blast. I'll be doing the same thing today, except I'll be watching Kenny Chesney. He'll be here in Houston at the Woodlands Pavillion (also outside, and a grassy hill will be involved!) It's supposed to rain, so it should make for some fun muddy excitement. There will definitely be some alcoholic beverages involved.

    Have a great week.

  29. I knew ya'll had to be Dave fans! Youre just too cool not to be:) I swear, DMB has the most loyal fans EVER! I'm from Indiana and we go every year to see them at an outside venue similar to what you described. I stood in a thunderstorm/monsoon (HA!) a few years ago...although it wasn't ideal weather, we wouldn't have missed it for the world. LOVE me some Dave!! Glad you had a rockin' time.

Hope you have a great birthday, mama!
