Those BIG Steece SMILES! :)

I have found a wonderful way to channel my precious, darling, dear's INDEPENDENT spirit---Savannah LOVES helping Mommy...with anything! She helps me fold clothes, clean up, unload groceries, and her new favorite activity is helping me in the kitchen. It cracks me up how I can talk to her like an adult and ask her to do things for me. She LOOOOVES it. Such a big girl. (and Benny is just like her---whatever Sav does, he does)

Miss Priss was helping her Mama make a pizza and sampling items as she assisted--notice her red pizza sauce mustache! (Speaking of, I've got a fun new review coming up soon! You'll have to check it out...)

We have been thoroughly enjoying our cooler weather here lately (can I getta "AMEN", DFW?!) After a nice long walk this morning, we have been hanging around the house--reading, playing, laughing...its been a good week.

Mr. Sunshine...my darling Drew

Liddle E-bud (Ethan) is looking SOOOO much better! (Always with the car---any car---even now!)

Benny Boop is such a ham! I LOOOOVE this new smile of his---he gets SO excited when I tell him to smile for the camera. Oh, and don't forget to make the noise when you smile: "Eeeeeeeeee"

Good 'ole Mom & Dad are doing good too---thanks to the Steeces, we had a much needed date night last Saturday in Austin with some of our best friends.

And remembering in prayer:
We are lifting up the McDonald family (close friends of the Steeces) as they have unexpectedly lost a mother and a wife to a brain aneurysm a little over 24 hours ago. I cannot even imagine the heartache/pain involved of suddenly losing my Mom at age 16. Our hearts our breaking and we are on our knees for these wonderful people. May the God of all comfort and healing continue to lift you up and hold you tight in the darkest hours of your lives. We love you all.

Praying for that family right now. I lost my parents when I was young so I can really relate to their pain and loss. HUGS!

  2. OMG! Sav looks so much older without her pig tails and with her glasses on. How fast they grow. Drew and Ethan are looking more identical as they get older too.

    Such sweet photos.

AMEN to the cooler weather! I'm not in DFW, but we're happy to have the cooler temps down here in Houston, for sure!

  5. Im so sorry for your friends.
My best friend recently lost both of her parents and her uncle in a car accident. It has been a horrible past few weeks.
Life and death doesnt seem fair at times. It makes me feel alot more greatful.
It makes me sad though how now four kids (17,21,23,24) and three grandkids (1,3, unborn) miss out on having their parents/grandparents in their lives.

Each day cherish being able to wake up and live.

  8. Amen on the cooler weather in DFW! I agree with comment above, your sweet baby girl looks to be more of a toddler now. The kids are all gorgeous. Also, I was on a medical site the other day and an advertising banner came up for Harris Hospital (I want to say it's Harris) and had your sweet babies on it.

  10. I went to a play date with some friends last week and I instantly thought of you taking your quads there. You may have heard of it before, it's called Paradise Pond, google it. It's at the First Baptist church in Grapevine. $1 a piece to get it! My daughter and I had the most fun I think we have ever had!!

  13. I love reading your blog! The kids are so cute and Savannah's hair is getting long....it looks like a big girl hair cut! I will certainly be praying for your friends! I was 15 when I lost my Mother and certainly know what their child is going through. I don't think there is any age that it wouldn't hurt as bad but at that age you still have sooo much you want to share with your Mom! Keeping them in my prayers!

  14. They're all precious, but my fav, fav, fav pic is of sav, sav, sav! Those glasses are the cutest things EVER! And she looks SO happy to be helping Mommy! Tell her I pay, and I sure do need some help cooking dinner, too! :)

  15. Did Savannah turn 5 from the time you last posted until this one? She looks so big! I love it when my kids help me in the kitchen. The oldest one has taken it upon her self to set the table complete with napkins and everything. The youngest is almost 18 months so she is just a tad too little to help right now, but I am sure she will be in there soon.

    Great post.

  17. Sending lots of prayers to the McDonald family......so tragic, I'm sure they are needing all the love and support they can get at this time.
Your children are P-R-E-C-I-O-U-S! How on earth do you get them to sit and smile for the camera? I have tried just about everything with my (almost) 2 1/2 year old twins...it is so hard! :)

  24. Oh gosh Suz, I love my little Princess for the same type of reasons. She started early to "help" in the kitchen and at 4 she can do quite a few things like grate cheese, spread butter etc.

And enjoying the girly company amongst all the men in the house is certainly part of the charm.

  29. I am not sure I have ever left comment before, but I have followed your blog here and there since you were pregnant... sounds kinda creepy now that I typed it out lol.

I was sitting here today and realized I hadn't stopped by in a while... WOW! Where did those little babies go? My mouth fell open as Miss Savannah's face popped up on my screen and then just hung there as I scrolled down the page!

The kids are beautiful and I love reading your upbeat blog!

  30. Ok, so ditto to the post above as a random blog reader. :) But I am a nurse at Cook and couldn't help but recognize Sav in that cute purple gown, wow she is such a big girl, growing up fast and I'm sure you have a lot on your hands. I was reading a carepage today (www.carepages.com) and who popped on the screen, none other than your cute kiddos from the Texas Health add. It was so cute b/c the way they do it, one pops up at a time, you need to go check it out! So fun, and thanks for sharing parts of your life, you truly are a blessed family! Prayers going out for you and your friends family, so awful and I know God will hold them during this time.

  34. Those are some cute smiles from some cuties!

Quick Question for you - I have seen your children eating snacks from containers that they are able to get the snack through the lid. What kind do you have? Do you recommend them? My son is 10 months and we were thinking those might come in handy soon. N_Tarpley at yahoo dot com

I love your blog....been reading for a long time! Just had to tell you that I was on Care Pages this week reading an update on a friend who is battling cancer. Across the top of the page was a banner with your sweet babies on it! I thought "Wow, I know those kids!" Of course, I've never met you, but from reading your blog, I feel like I do. Anyway, it was really sweet to see their smiling faces!
