Time to Chop that Mop!

The little foursome are feeling MUCH better!---good as new! Thank you for all of your well wishes and prayers.

It was finally time for Mama’s shears to get a break (I cut all of my family members’ hair)…so, Papa and I loaded up the boys and headed to the cheapest hair cuttin’ place I could find: Great Clips.

(Ethan, Ben, Andrew)

The boys haven’t been to a salon since their very 1st haircut---2 years ago! And because I do this a lot, I know how each child will react.

Andrew is great, but loses his patience after a couple of minutes. He’s a brave little soul, so he was the 1st to sit in the chair today.

Ben is a little apprehensive at first, but usually does well. Today, he requested Papa by his side (he loves his grandfathers) and was a real trooper!

Ethan…oh, Ethan my love. Mama saved YOU for last because she knew how much you would enjoy your haircut today. Poor lil guy FREAKS OUT when he sees his hair fall down.

I cannot believe these kiddos will be THREE in a couple of weeks (August 1st)! They look SO GROWN UP! (Sav, Drew, Ben, Ethan)

  1. SO precious! I love that bottom pic! A-FREAKIN-DORABLE!!!!! You always get the BEST group shots woman! You must teach me your tricks! It's so funny because now that I've seen the boys in person I can see little subtle differences in Ethan & Drew that I never could before! IT'S SO COOL! Their new do's look great!

  4. I just had my youngest son's first BIG haircut a few weeks ago and I cried! He had THE most adorable curls in the back...but he was about to start sporting a mullet if we kept the front short and the back long...so we finally gave him the chop. He looked SOOOO different and so much older than his sweet 18 months afterwards...How/Why is that? *sigh*

Such adorable kiddos...I agree with Cathy in Frisco...Old Navy should be paying you for advertising!

  8. Oh Girl, i have a screamer too.... Carson freaks out as well. I used to have sit in the chair with the cape on, and then lock my arms around him. We had to hold his face too... poor guy. I tried a male barber, dad taking him, me cutting it. SO not fun. It is still a battle. Speaking of...I need to get his hair cut soon!

    Love their little tans!

PS-- are you still doing naps with them? Or room time? At this age how does that work wit hall 4? I bet being at school they are ready for a nap on those days

  9. It amazes me how a haircut can be so traumatizing! Lucas (my oldest) is 9 now and he wouldn't sit by himself for the first 4 years of his life. I had to sit in the chair with him in my lap and he'd still cry everytime.

Love their haircuts - they are so handsome and the last one of all 4 of them - just precious children you have!

  10. Suz, your kiddos are just so beautiful!! I love reading about them and their latest adventures.

My twinkies will be 3 on Saturday, so I always think about what life would be like with twice as many of them running around -- and then I faint. One of our girls is really "getting" potty training, and one is just not interested yet. And at this age, they're so busy, and so curious, and so SMART -- it's a wonderful age (if also a very trying age!)

Seriously though -- I love reading your updates! I love seeing such a joyful family :-)
