We had a fun little Christmas exchange with our cousins and besties…great tradition to start.
For some reason this year, I just couldn’t get into the Christmas spirit. I missed my Mama- who was having radiation therapy in Houston (the radiation made her VERY sick), I battled the flu for a week, the kids took turns getting sick. I was just OVER the weather/holidays and wanted to fast forward to 2014. (Such a crummy attitude, I know…don’t worry, I snapped out of it eventually).
I decided to do something special for my Mom. She was pretty depressed that her house wouldn’t be decorated for Christmas including NO TREE…so, I gathered my little helper elves and made a whirlwind 24 hr trip to Waco to spread some cheer at my parents house.
The minions were in charge of the baby tree…
…while I attacked the main tree
It wasn’t much…
…but it was SOMETHING
The kids really got into it. They understood exactly why we were there, in Papa and Granna’s empty house, putting up all those decorations. It was a very special time.
Granna finished up her radiation on December 23, and started the 3 hour trek home with Papa. When she walked into the house, my Dad said she sobbed for 30 straight minutes. I would have LOVED to have seen that! My sweet Mama tears up every time she talks about our special Christmas surprise.
Next up, Christmas in Waco…
Special moments we have to treasure. Continue to have rhose special moments to share

Suz, you are so special to me, I have always felt a connection to you. I lost my mother 3 years ago, 6 days before Christmas. This season is now very hard for me. So glad you went and decorated your parents house. Bless you. Will pray for peace and comfort for all of your family and wisdom for her physicians. Much love for a special for 2014
