I have been finding encouragement in my daily emails and phone texts with Jen Murray. Our quads have been so sick lately! Check out the Murray Blog and give her some love...her precious boys all have ear infections!
I went to the doctor yesterday (I never go to the doctor--but I seriously felt like I was dying--and I'm a tough cookie!) And we just got back from taking all four to the pediatrician this morning so I wanted to update all of you as to what we have been dealing with in the Steece household:
Mama (scary!):
Upper Respiratory Infection
Bronchitis
Steroid Injection to the "posterior", Z-pack antibiotics, and 2 other cough/congestion prescriptions
Ethan:
Left Ear Infection
Bilateral Pink Eye
Upper Respiratory Infection w/ wheezing
Antibiotic drops, Amoxicillin, breathing treatments twice/day
Savannah:
Right Ear Infection
Bilateral Pink Eye
Upper Respiratory Infection w/ wheezing
Antibiotic drops, Amoxicillin, breathing treatments twice/day
Benjamin:
Woke up this morning with pink eye in his right eye (eye crusted/swollen shut)
Upper Respiratory Infection
Antibiotic drops, Amoxicillin, possible breathing treatments twice/day
Andrew:
NO PINK EYE! (yet)....scratch that....BILATERAL PINK EYE!!!

Dada:

He's sounds like how I sounded about a week and a half ago--so we are medicating him like crazy. SOMEONE in this household HAS to stay WELL!
And Shiloh is as healthy and happy as a little lark!
Ah WOOO HOOO!!! Don't let these smiles fool you---it has been craziness around the house with four sick, feverish babies crying to be in your arms at all times! And all Mama wants to do is hold them and make them feel better (while hacking all over them herself). Oh, and another thing...we are currently cutting our one-year molars and it has been absolutely horrible! Poor babies! This WILL PASS, right?! ;)

ReplyDeleteOh Lordy! We got hit, too, and it's been miserable. When I think about adding 2 more babies to the mix I nearly have to sit down from exhaustion.

ReplyDeleteYes the molars will pass - we just got through getting 3 in at once. Our normally happy independent girl turned into a whiny, cannot be pleased girl. For the molars teething tablets did not help so we straight for the tylenol which helped immensely. Hope all 6 of you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteSuz, God Bless You! (..and not just for sneezing.) This is horrible. What a rough time for you. I'm glad the medicine cabinet (or refrigerator) is now full of antibiotics and soon things should be looking up. Now, with antibiotics come some of the messiest diapers..ah the joys!

Oh no! I'm so sorry, Suzanne!! It's hard enough when one person in the family is sick, much less all 6 of you! I hope you all get over this quickly and start to feel better soon. Btw, every time I look down at my bracelet I smile. I can't tell you how much I love it!! I'm so so glad you were in town and got to come to the hospital! Love you!

Oh Suz... I hope everyone gets better soon. I know how rough it can be being sick and having to tend to sick babies. It really makes for very long days. And I so know about the Traveling Pink Eye Bug once one gets it you know all of them will have it. I hope everyone gets to feeling better soon.

Don't worry, it gets SOOOO much better. It's hard to believe, but after all of this immunity building this year, next year flu season will breeze by with little more than a couple minor colds and ear infections. Hang in there!

ReplyDeleteLong time lurker, but Ags, so I'm sure we met you at some point in Aggieland. Gargle some warm salt water yourself as often as you can because Z-paks aren't the greatest. They hit quickly, but tend to cause resistance later. So, stay on top of it. Make sure that you are taking good care of yourself!!!!

ReplyDeleteOk. Like you really have time for reading comments! HA I have 5 children, the last 2 are 1 year old twins. Ever since they have been born when one kid gets sick the other does. We have now been sick 8 weeks and counting with 2 stomach virus, one appendectomy, snot, congestion, getting teeth! AAAHH I sympathize. You feel tired, sorry, stretched in all directions and dirty. Right? HA Praying for you all!

OMG - I hope you all feel better soon! My 3rd baby was the first one to get pink eye, so no one thought to tell me (they thought i knew) to wash the sheets EVERYTIME they get up (and your pillow case everytime) nap/bedtime or they'll keep getting it. ALso blankets and YOUR shirts if you still carry them around and they rub their faces on your shoulder. My 2 babies couldn't get rid of it until someone finally clued me in.

Boy oh boy, do I feel your pain!
ReplyDeleteThe hardest part for me was when they all wanted ot be comforted, and didn't want to share me. No matter what I did, someone was screaming. I did what I could, but when my husband came home, I said "One of these days you're going to find them all strapped into booster seats screaming, and me in another room with headphones on!" Usually I just called and asked him to bring home chocolate.
I hope that it all gets better really soon.

ReplyDeleteOh how rotten! We have a daddy geting over the flu that was banned from all parts of the house that has baby stuff so he could only stay in the bedroom, and my little Nate bug got it any way:( So far so good, me and the girls are still ok (knocking on wood)! I hope all is better soon.
