What?! 18 Months Already???

O man...I cannot believe my little preemies are one and a half years old today! Someone pinch me! Here are some pics of the kiddies this weekend...you know, my heart has been so heavy with Tuesday's death...it has really made me appreciate every single second I have with my children. Life can change in an instant--so, please take the time to give your kiddies and those you love, extra kisses today. Let them know and FEEL how much you ADORE and appreciate them.

Kissing Sav with every inch of my being!

Sweet, sweet Ethan has been such a little Mama's boy lately (it always changes between the children...so funny). He is trying to learn SO much and will bring different items to ask me what they are...you can see the little wheels-a-turnin'

Drew's energy has been out of this world lately! His smile is electric and he LOVES to be chased around the house by his Daddy...LOVES it. Such a bright beam of sunshine, this lil dude.

Benny, Benny, Benny Boy...what are we going to do with you? Mr. Moody Pants lately...asserting his independence and individuality, I'm sure. Here he is in one of his daily "all-out-fits"...doesn't help that they are all snotty, congested, and receiving breathing treatments twice a day...I'm preeeetty sure that has something to do with it

Mama trying her best to turn that frown upside down

Hmmm...it MAY be working...too hard to tell...at least he stopped crying for 2.2 seconds (I was actually trying to capture the rightous glimmering slime oozing out of his nostrils...ewwwwww! Poor guy!)

Savannah and her Granna--her new favorite animal noise is the elephant as she blows from her lips and raises her arm to her nose (a little sponge, this one...Mrs. Smarty Pants won't let any of her brothers EVER answer a question)

Ethan is always afraid of toys that make any type of noise (a very cautious and guarded young fella) He has to warm up to them...we're talking all-out-melt down, shaking and TERRIFIED fits!...breaks my heart! It took him several days and LOTS of tears before he finally fell in love with his horsey.

Drew going to town...

One day after church, Savannah saw her Mommy wearing bracelets...ever since then, Little Miss Priss roams around the house fitting all sorts of hollow objects on her wrists. In this picture, I had just asked Sav if those were her pretty blue bracelets and she put her hands to her face like a little Prima Donna and just struck this pose for about 10 seconds.

If I could just keep Drew from biting the books all to pieces! Grrrr! (TEETHING like crazy goin on around here) The kids are CRAVING books right now (mostly being read to, as opposed to dietary snacks)...They will all point up to the books in the most dramatic whine and cry "buuh buuuuh buuuuuuuuuuuuh"

Andrew Paul: My little firecracker

LOOK! Ben is smiling...QUICK! Somebody grab a camera! (Just kiddin, Boo Boo...givin' the guy a hard time...I have to-I'm his Mom...its in my job description, right?)

  1. They are sure growing up! Looking more like toddlers and much less like babies. Love Sav's hair!

  2. Now those were some precious pics, girl. All of mine LOVE jewelry ("mama's pretties") and fight over who gets to touch it first. These little stand-offs have cost me more pieces of jewelry and more headaches from all the screaming! Now, I don't wear any jewelry unless I'm runnin out the door. Oh well!

Thanks for the fun post. Things have been pretty sad lately...for everyone.

    Love that Steece Sunshine!

  4. Happy 1.5 Birthday to the Steece Crew!!! They are adorable Suz...you are one amazing momma! I had to laugh...my oldest Aidan was totally freaked by any noise-making toy & oh forget about the ones that moved by themselves! He EVEN hated public restrooms & wouldn't let me flush the toilet unless he was WELL AWAY from the stall. Kiddos are so funny!!!

  5. My wife and I read about Tuesday's death with great sadness too, especially since our own daughter has been given less than 20% chance of survival. She has Leukemia. Her name is Abby. We are grateful for multitudes of people praying for us.

It certainly does make you cherish each day.

  9. So cute!

My older daughter is 4 1/2 and still bites books. So now we have a Pottery Barn Kids bookshelf up on the wall and the 'good books' go there (and they're only taken down for a bedtime story and then put right back!), and then we have a dollhouse bookshelf in her playroom with all of the half eaten ones ;o).

  15. It's interesting that what you wrote today about Tuesday, because I expressed the same sentiments on my blog on Friday... "it makes your love for your own little one, so much more intense. So much more magnified.

I was way more patient today than I was yesterday. I hugged a lot more. And kissed. And played. I was more tuned in. I was much gentler. Perspective. That's what Tuesday's death gave me. Perspective. God help me to always love, and hug, and kiss... a little bit more."

We are praying for Tuesday's family too. And grieving with them, tho' we dont' even know them.

  20. They are getting so big. Ethan and Drew look just like their daddy. You better watch Sav. That is exactly like my "prissy pants" That is what Miles and Marshall call her. It is so hard not to laugh when they do it. Enjoy every moment they do grow up fast. We are almost 5 1/2 and 9 1/2, next week.

  29. I am a follower of your blog from long ago, but have only commented a few times. I felt compelled to post today and tell you how much I appreciate you sharing your life and your children with "us". I love this post. You are so right, our children are such a gift and a blessing. I too was broken hearted over Tuesday's death. It was a joy to come here and see you celebrate your quads. I am a member of an infertility group online and there is a mother there recently pregnant with quads. She is reducing to two soon. It breaks my heart. I directed her to your blog. I hope that she will come here and read of your journey and your amazing strength and courage. You are a beautiful person, inside and out. God has blessed you abundantly. Your family is beautiful.

I just read about Tuesday. First I cried and now I just feel so sick. That poor family. Completely heart breaking.
You are right that it really makes you appreciate what you have.
    Your family is so beautiful.

  37. Savannah wearing her bracelets reminded me of something my oldest daughter (now 13.5) did when she was around the same age. My mother was wearing braces on her wrists for carpal tunnel syndrome. One day Sarah found a couple of empty toilet paper rolls and put them on her wrists and went around saying, "I'm like Nana!" It was too cute.
