Some things that have been on my mind lately

Why are women so destructive toward other women???

I remember it all starting in elementary...
is "_______" going to invite me to her birthday party? One day you are friends, the next day you are not...vicious cycle...

In junior high, girl drama was EVERY SINGLE DAY...cat fights in the restroom...friendships breaking over boys...at least one girl a day would be crying about something or someone...

In high school, the attacks were more serious, more severe...girlfriends back-stabbing each other, talking bad about each other to "fit in" with another group...one single individual could turn an entire high school against you by starting terrible rumors or any number of high school "pranks"...

Then you leave for college and think, "I'm so glad this stupid high school stuff is over...so glad everyone here is mature!" (Ha!) Girls can be absolutely cruel to each other...I hate that I have witnessed so much destruction from females (and not just personally, but with my other girlfriends and such)

Now, we are adult professional women, at the workplace, and the same dynamic holds true...as a nurse, about 95% of my co-workers are female.

My entire life, I have tended to have way more boy-friends than girls...for this reason alone...there are a handful of girlfriends who I absolutely cherish (you know who you are)!

Why are women so destructive toward other women???

I am not sure why but it existed since the bible. Females are meanest to each other.

It totally agree. I hardly have any girlfriends because of that reason as well. Unfortunately I am sure guys deal with it as well. The scarry part of life I am afraid to say is that if you are not the TOP GIRL then it is not all about you. In this world of RIGHT NOW, and it is OUR RIGHT, if we are not happy or on top, then we let everyone know and make everyone miserable until we are IT.
It is so hard to watch it and even harder when you are the one being talked about.... KUDOS GOD LOVES US ALL... With Sisterly Love...
Will it ever change? Not until the last bell if rung and heaven opens to those called ;)

The sad thing is is how early it starts. A few of my second grade girls are so cruel and catty to eachother. It makes me so sad.

Great post! Very thought provoking on why we are this way! We should be on eachother's sides. I too, always had a majority of guy friends until college but learned the true value of having solid friendships with females during college. Now I find strength, comfort, honesty, and wisdom in females that although My husband tries is only given by another female at times. Sometimes you have to weed through friends to find the diamonds in the rough but once you do you know that person will stand by your side the rest of your life. That is true friendship.

Hey Sunshine! I just wanted to say hi... and if any girl tries to bow up on you, send them my way! Just kidding, that kind of defeats the purpose of your whole blog. No seriously, I agree with JoLee. It seems to me that misery loves company. If anyone, and not just a girl, is not happy with theirselves, they tend to shed a negative light on others in order to keep it off of themselves. It is quite an unfortunate reality. I myself, did not totally experience this until I got in to the workforce. It is rather sad if you ask me, and the best way to stay away from it is to not even acknowledge it and be yourself. I certainly am not full of wisdom with all the answers, but I just wanted to share my thoughts with you. Anyway, I miss you and tell Joe I said hi!

Hey Suz...
What is up this us girls trying to pull each others hair out? I so know what you mean. I am truely no expert but I have been there and I think it is even worse in the workplace... (see Brittany). I worked with guys before and I tell you what there are days that I so wish that I was working with them again...... But I would not trade my new found true friendships for nothing... XO in sisterly love...
Just wanted to let you know that you are loved by many and have the ultimate love from above...he will calm the soul...GOD BLEZZ U ALL
