Long Time, No Talk...

This post is the highly anticipated debut of suzanne's significant other...it's time for Joe to post his side of the story. some of you will laugh, some of you will wonder "uhhh what?" and some of you will hope this is my last post.

Time to get serious...

well, not really but i liked this hardcore pic and wanted to use it.

Ok, so my wife has been filling all of you in on everything thats been going on and i figured it was about time i got in the mix. sue has likely made fun of me several times, you've seen my crazy pics and you're probably thinking "what is her husband doing posting on her blog?" well, im sorry to disappoint you, but this post is all joe today and its going to be AWESOME. my goal is to try and give you a 28yr old male-perspective on this whole thing...let me re-phrase that, a 28yr old who got depressed when he turned 25, wishes he was peter pan (never grow up) and loves spending one on one time with his wife. that is, until the BIG4 arrived!

So, lets go marty and DOC (back to the future) to when i found out:

"Doc, did you say 4 kids at the same time? Not possible!"

I heard and kind of saw the news. pretty much almost blacked out. to be honest, i had no idea what i was looking at...it was black, gray and kind of white. things moved around, but i had no idea what those "things" were. it was like a really bad nintendo game and the graphics were flat out horrible. so, i snapped back into reality and heard "there's 3 sacks and 4 babies." i watched my wife start to cry the second she heard the word "four" (she knew about all the complications and i didnt)...it was all i needed to send me into worry overload. i worried about everything from suz, to the kids, to my ability to provide for all 5 of them. the worst thing was watching suz lay in that bed crying and there was absolutely nothing i could do...nothing i could say...i was completely out of my zone. all that masculinity had disappeared, it wasnt something i could protect her from or guarantee her the outcome of.

WHOA, wait it a minute...take her easy!

it was too much, too soon and i think i lived in a haze for a few days (maybe weeks!). it wasnt a bad thing, it was just my mind trying to wrap itself around too many things at the same time. i've come around to cherish two sayings: Lord give me strength and one day at a time.

bottom line, we've come a long way and discovered a lot. my wife is the one supporting me, when it should be the other way around. she has given me strength, she has given me confidence and now its my turn.

33...thirty three...p-dubbs...triple 3...8 months and a 1 week

It all adds up to my favorite hoops player off all time. Patrick Ewing, #33, who played for the New York Knickerbockers. The longer suz can fight and hold on to the BIG4, the better. the goal is the middle of august and 33 or 34 weeks...

THAT IS GOOD NEWS!!!! -Ron Burgandy

"A Lahoya man clings to life and in other news, the Steece's are expecting 4."

3 and 1

So by now, you've all heard its 3 boys and 1 girl...and we're really excited. for the first time i've relaxed and just enjoyed the news. i've got 3/5 of a starting five and the princess i will spoil beyond belief...i know, its not a good thing but i know it'll happen. i'm also glad suz has a girl that will give her a break from all the testosterone that will soon consume this house. we may out number them but it wont really matter...their votes count more than ours will.

that's it, i've bored you long enough and you're sitting there thinking...PLEASE give us suz back!

i just wanted to thank all of you for reading and supporting my wife through all this...i really appreciate it.

finally, you all know im an aggie and ALL four of these kids WILL be aggies, so GIG'EM!!!! i'm hoping one of our sons will be named after this guy:

ok, not really...but i'll give it my best!

Wow! Suzanne is so lucky to have a husband like you! Having 4 babies is such a life changing experience, but there is no doubt in my mind that Suz and the 4 babies will be well taken care of. You are a great guy...maybe that's why she married you!

Hilarious!!! You guys must be such a great couple...these 4 kiddos are blessed with fabulous parents...and just think, Joe will soon have 4 babes who think the WORLD of their Peter Pan dad. Can't wait to hear the stories of the trouble you get your kids into! It was quite entertaining to hear your point of view...but you better go feed your wife...it might be time for a KING size Snickers bar:)

Joe,
It was nice to hear your story and in-take on the whole experience. I never got to know you since you didn't go to Harding. But I definitely think Suz is lucky to have such a supporting husband during this time. I agree with the comment above about trying to get Suz fat. Go get her some good ole'southern fried food. Seriously, take good care of her:)

I ditto Amanda's comment above-sorry that I've never met you in person but know that Suz & those 4 kiddos are in good hands! You must post again-especially after Suz delivers (with pics of the quads)!

I don't know...I'm kind of diggin' it...Acie, Carter, Antanas, and Rev (because she is the first Aggie princess).

WOW!!! Maybe you will get your name on the Platinum list of donors to the school when your four are all in school at the same time! My suggestion...invest in a condo in College Station RIGHT NOW!!! Lots of prayers for a great daddy-to-be.

Joe, good stuff man. My wife is a blogaholic and gets on your wife's blog all the time. I am the proud father of 5 month old twins, and I got tell ya the only bad thing about having kids other than the occasional explosion in the britches is making bottles. At first your like this is no big deal, then as the week goes by your at work, you look down at your hands and wonder why they look like raisins. Well this is where my comment ends. I to will leave the blogging to my wife. Take care, get some sleep and do whatever your wife ask, she's carrying four other people!!!!!

I love hearing "the other side", and I hope this isn't the last from Joe! Very funny!! Suz, I was in Dallas yesterday and went to La Madeleine(sp?) for lunch. I thought of the PERFECT thing for you to eat...their tomato basil soup. It's incredibly good, light, and outrageously fattening. I can't imagine anything being more fattening, along with healthy. Just thought I'd share!

I would tell you that you're too funny, Joe and that I laughed so hard, but I don't want to inflate your ego too much!

My husband says that Sam can choose any school he wants to - A&M or Duke. What class are you? I'm 2002 and Ryan is 2003.

Well beleive it or not we are at the same number that you are carrying. Between Sunni and I, there are 3 boys, and 1 girl. Let me tell yah, Desiree loves it. She is the queen bee...Watching them all together is quit exhausting so I know GOD only gives that many to those that can handle it... NOT ME....
You are going to be having so much fun with your precious little ones... Joe will be able to play ball on an even team while you and your princess can play dressup and be all prissy....OH THE MEMORIES THAT WILL GROW....
I can only recall once in my two preg when the Dr told me to eat more.. I could not even imagine how it would be for you. WOW...Im sure that your dietation knows what they are talking about but wow... talk about plunging into to a pool of chocolate and drinking your way out...That would be hard for most expectant moms I think...(Most of us wanting to be healthy eaters for our littles)...
It was great to hear from JOE... It's good to know that he is human and had some freaking out moments and all. DIDDOS that we hear from him again soon... You are such a peaceful and complimentary couple.. TAKE CARE AND GOD GLESS YOU AND YOUR 3 TO 1 ODDS... ;)

First of all I have to say--it's actually La Jolla, not Lahoya :) So does this all mean a CA vacation is out of the question?
Thanks for sharing your perspective on the whole thing Joe. Suz is lucky to have you and visa versa.
Suz, I would love to teach you to knit! I'll keep my eye out for flights :).
Lots of love,

Joe and Suz- Loved hearing Joe's side of the story Joe- I teared up and laughed out loud. SOOOO Excited to hear about 3 boys and a girl! That diet sounds pretty yummy to me. I need to cut back a little on fried foods to loose the rest of my tummy. I know you are taking this most important job very seriously and will find a way to eat that food and stay on rest. I've always admired your strength and determination. Hopefully we can come see you before mid Aug. I know you can do it!
Love you all so much! Mo

I love getting on reading the updates. You two are so cute. Suz I've know you since baby stage but Joe I feel I've known you forever... Johnny and I are praying for all "6" of you.. You will make great parents and I know one thing for sure they will have the best of Grandparents... Steve and Janey. Of coarse I don't know the other set but I know they will be thrilled.
Love and hugs to all.. Donna N.in Waco
