Picture Day Fun with the Babies Today!!!

Okay, so Nurse Ashley is THE BEST! I walk into the NICU today and she says: "Alright Mom, today is picture day!"...and we proceeded to get all of the babies out and put them together for the first time! It was so neat!

Miss Ashley (I like to think of her as the babies second mom!) and Miss Savannah

I was just laughing outloud as Ashley lined the babies up one by one. It was so funny to see all of these babies laying there and to know that they are all ours! It is still pretty surreal.

Here they are...together for the first time since the womb! My little two-week old quad babies. It was SOOOOO neat to see them all together! Little Ethan was completely awake...sweet baby boy. Starting from the right, they are in their birth order: Andrew, Savannah, Ethan, and Ben

They are still preemies and get cold very easily, so they are all bundled up well. I should have gotten a pic with their hats off so you could see all of their dark brown hair! (Aren't those little hats adorable?? Dallas made them for the babies! Thanks woman! They are still a little big, but they are so cute, I couldn't resist trying them on now!)

Savannah and Ben have fat little round faces like their mama. Ben just looks gigantic compared to the other little ones!

Andrew didn't care for all the commotion today. Look how little he looks in my hand!

Our sweet little identical twin boys! Ethan and Andrew...they look like their daddy! Both of their heads could fit in my one hand...crazy!

SOOOOO CUTE! We had so much fun today!

How special Suzanne! I can remember how special it was for me to see my babies back together for the 1st time after they were born(it wasn't until about 7-8 weeks for ours. I LOVE the hats. What a great gift and it will be fun to take pics again with them on once they actually fit:) You look great! All dressed up cute...looks like you are getting your energy back quickly. Are you pumping? Do they have the babies on feeds yet?
Love the updates!

Can you believe all of that was inside you? My first thought when I saw my triplets together after they were born was "how did all of that fit in there." I can't imagine one extra!

They all look great and so do you. One day very soon you will not even be able to imagine how small they are now. They grow up so fast!

Oh Suz - I've held my breath for you guys for the last several months. I'm so glad to see 4 babies who are doing great! And, bless the NICU nurses who go to the extra effort to make a NICU parent's day. I don't know if they realize how much that means to us parents.

Can't wait to hear the news that they are coming home. It'll be sooner than you know!

First time to post not sure exactly how I found your blog but I did on the day you were having your babies! Hope you don't mind having another friend join in on all of your joy! They are perfect and you look AMAZING, I did it the hard way and had them one at a time. Just enjoy every moment and be happy with the age and stage they are at. I was reading your fan mail (comments) and low and behold I see someone I know. Shout out to Jamie Pugh- I was lucky enough to be working with her son's pre-k teacher when she was pregnant with the twins. (how crazy is that!!!) FYI for Jamie I used to be Fletcher now Dovel.

Blessings to your BIG beautiful family,

How exciting! The babies and mom look great! I know you enjoyed every minute of it and look forward to more to come! How much do the babies way now? I thoroughly love reading your journey through life with quads! You have been very blessed. Another friend in Texas.

Lurker here again. Oh my goodness, those babies are precious! Look how sweet they all look together! Suzanne, you are just beaming...you look fantastic. I can't believe how much bigger Ben looks...and darling Andrew, all wide eyed! Props to Nurse Ashley, what a cool lady!

The pics are adorable! Take a lot, the babies change so fast. I counted how many pics we had after my quads first year; we had pics equal to one pic per baby per day! and that was before digital cameras. Absolutely work on that birth story! I don't think I made enough notes about the things that happened and when. Even if you just make notes on the chart pages. (Don't forget about those, it will be like charting for work)

Suggestion on the changing tables. Put one upstairs and one downstairs near the kitchen and living area. don't forget about a crock pot or two for warming bottles. Call me when you want something! Rachel

I'm new to your blog...found it through my best friend who is pregnant with identical twin girls. Anyway, I am so fascinated with your story! I love reading your blogs...and check it every day! Can I just say that I am so happy and excited for you guys. I try to pray for the babes every chance I can...when I remember! I am amazed that they are doing so wonderful! What a blessing! There is no denying that God has his hand on your precious babies and your family! And can I just say that you look fantastic! From the pictures, you can't tell that you just had QUADS!! Crazy!

That is SO AWE3OME! We have finally been able to get a couple of our quads (Baron and Anna) together a couple of times, but we haven't gotten all four yet! That is TOO SWEET!!!!!

Dallas said...

Yea! The hats! They are so big on their little heads :). I'm glad you were able to use them. A year from now they will be way too small!!!!! I am so happy for you all. Your children are absolutely beautfiul!!!!!!!!!

Suzanne - your pictures are absolutely precious. I'm so amazed at how well everyone is doing. And you look so good! Looks like being out of the hospital has really revivied you! Gee, I can't imagine why? Sunlight, perhaps? Anyhow, hope things with the nurseries are going well.

And, this is random but I thought I'd ask... a friend of mine recently moved to Texas and is a NICU nurse in Austin. Her name is Kirby, she's young and fun and has red hair. Just wondering if you've come across her during your stay there. I think (?) I remember reading you're in the Dallas/Fort Worth area but I don't know my Texas geography AT ALL (CA girl born and raised). Anyhow, worth a shot - let me know if you came across her at one point. We grew up together and she was in my wedding last year. LOVE that girl!

Glad everything's going well! Still pray for you 6 often!

I have to agree with Rachel's tip about the changing table - one up and one down. Or, you can do what we did which was turn our never-used breakfast bar (it separated kitchen from den) into the downstairs changing table. We kept wipes, diapers, Boudreaux Butt-paste etc right there. And a few baby wash clothes for extra messy 'incidents'. Really - you probably will need something downstairs, as it will be next to impossible to dash upstairs with all four. However - I have no fear - I think you can handle it fine. You are young and smart. I developed the art of a 32-second pee break so as not to leave my twins unattended long enough for them to get in any trouble. LOL! You can do this! Have a great day and enoy your special babies!

Lova ya!

Oh how fun!! I Love these pictures! Ethan's eyes are so sweet! I still have a hard time really getting a grip on how small they actually are but when you mentioned 2 heads could fit in your hand I was amazed!

Happy 2 week bday, Quads! You are all so beautiful!

Wow! I know I've probably said this already, but you all look AMAZING! Quick question: Is it easy to tell the identical twins apart? How do you do it? They look EXACTLY the same to me! And all four are oh, so beautiful!

Hi new Mommy! I am a friend of Sharla Marler's, and she told me about you. Sweet girl, congratulations to you and your hubby. What beautiful babies you have! They are just darling, I'm sure you're well aware of this fact, but they really are gorgeous.

My sister had a baby girl, eight weeks early, and she's doing great. Paige (the baby, who is now nearly two) is the West Texas March of Dimes baby. Anyway, your sweet little ones reminded me of Paige, with the blankets and hats and little breathing tubes.

Okay, my reason for posting . . . I'm a 'stranger' in Houston who is praying every day for you and your beautiful family. God promises not to give you anything you can't handle! Just remember that on the tough days, okay?

In Him!!!

Amanda

PS I have a DARLING Ben of my own, age seventeen months. :o) Good name!

Congratulations on your beautiful babies! I have been following your blog for months now. I am cousins with Dallas & Marty. Anyway, I had to leave a comment when I saw a pic of Ashley on your blog. When our son was in the NICU at Harris she was one of our many nurses and she was my favorite! I know it is hard to go home without them but it is so good to know that they are in good hands. Kendra

I am a new "stalker" on your blog. Hope you don't mind.

I have 2 sets of b/g twins and we did the NICU stay as well. My youngest were born at 31 weeks and spent 26 and 39 days in the NICU. My little guy - the last to come home came home Christmas eve day 2005. It was the best X-mas present ever.

Good luck with everything. I hope your NICU stay is short and sweet!
