4 Cribs in 1 Room!!!!

How do you fit four cribs in one room?...

Did Suz work on decorating four cranial bands this weekend like she had planned to all week? Of COURSE not! ;) Instead, I visited a fellow quad-mom on bedrest in the hospital...Casey is 28 weeks and has 4 more to go! Please stop by her blog and give her some love and encouragement! Casey and Rob are incredible people and I can't wait to meet their beautiful quad babies!

Today, Joe and I were SUPER busy rearranging the upstairs! We put together the remaining two cribs; disassembled the two cribs that were already built; moved those cribs to the new nursery; put the two disassembled cribs back together again; moved the changing tables to one room (which will become our "safe room" playroom)...sheesh, tired yet? I'm giving MYSELF a headache just typing all of this out. I'm sure you get the picture...we were BUSY!

Three cribs in a row

Ben's lone crib on the other wall

This is our favorite room! It is so cozy! LOVE IT! Hopefully the babes will get GREAT sleep in this room! (which in turn will give mom and dad great sleep! ha!) I need to take an updated picture with their wedges in their cribs...oh, and lets not forget King Ben in his bouncie seat--in his crib. (pathetic...save your comments....I KNOW!) ha.

Katie (now age 3) spent about 2 weeks where she would sleep in her bouncie seat in her crib when she was a baby-at night! I felt kind of bad, but honestly-I needed the sleep! You do what you gotta do! My friend's baby who is 5 weeks older than Katie slept in her swing.

If a bouncy seat is what it takes for him to sleep for the time being, then that's what it takes.

I'm a nanny of 32 week twins and they were in the bouncy seats until they were 1! I put my foot down after that and they do better in their cribs now.

Good luck with the babies, they are beautiful!

our twins are sleeping in their bouncy seats. We are slowly trying to get them out of them but when you need sleep you just do what you can! :)

NOT crazy! I did the same thing with my son (bouncy chair IN crib) because he had terrible reflux. It's fine girl!

Don't feel bad about the bouncy seat in the crib...My youngest son slept in his bouncy seat in our room. He was such a grunter, that we moved him into our bathroom, and eventually had to shut the door, and turn the fan on! :) Finally, we moved him into his crib in his own room! You do what you gotta do to get some sleep, right!:)

My opinion? You do what works for you!!! Especially if you have quads!

How do you reach the baby in the middle crib if he ends up at the other end?

The bouncy seat in the crib - we've done it. You have to do what you have to do to SURVIVE!!

From a mommy who's "babies" are 7 and 4... You are going to want to lean over and kiss those babies in their cribs. Nothing sweeter to kiss than a sleeping child. I love the room and those cribs are beautiful! BTW, tell Carrie Foster that fellow Kojie, Nikki Rausche Davis, says "HI!". Suzanne, thank you so much for continuing to share your life with us!

I do also wonder how you plan to reach the middle baby if he/she is at the other end. I know my munchkin is ALL OVER THE CRIB!

And the bouncy seat in the crib? Yep. We've done it to. You do what you gotta do!

I know there's no other arrangement b/c 4 cribs in one room has got to be tight so I didn't mean anything by my first question. It was just an honest question!

I love your paint job! That is fantastic. I can't believe you have 4 cribs in one room...wow! I hope they sleep well for you guys!!! And, if Ben sleeps in the bouncy, then he sleeps in the bouncy...for a few more weeks or so that should work, just be careful as he gets stronger...they can manuever themselves out of those things...trust me, I know! :)

I told you it would work!!!! I love it! I love that Ben sleeps in a bouncie seat! He knows that the other three get to sleep on something in their beds, he doesn't want to be left out. You are the best!

Sweet Suzanne! It was so wonderful to see you briefly on Saturday. I hope dinner was great! You did have a busy day today!
Don't stress about that bouncy seat. Although it seems odd to you as you can see you aren't alone. Kellar slept in his car seat in the crib for almost 9 months (reflux). I felt terrible about it, but he slept and that is all that matters sometimes. I'm sure I was more bothered by it than him.
Can't wait to be back soon loving on those babies (especially my special friend, Ethan). You let me know what you need. I'm working on that 4-seat table...
Wow! Small world! Nikki Rausche, my old Kojie buddy, is reading all about you!
Love you and those Babies (Joe too!)

I've never posted before, but I love checking out your bio. I have 13 m/o id twin boys named Andrew and Ethan (we have something in common). I love the babies room, the colors are great!!!

I wanted to add that my boys slept in bouncy seats for the first 2 months on top of the pack n'play next to our bed...now that's pathetic!!!!

your babies are just precious and I really enjoy reading about your family!

Take care,

You know? If the crib layout works for you - including Ben in his bouncy seat - then go for it! No one else can be in that room with you and the babies - and the picture don't give the same "perspective" of room size and shape. We had a unique way of loading our twins in the back row of our mini van. We got some strange looks - but it really worked for our situation.

Here is my view on Ben in his bouncy seat - eventually he will be too big for the bouncy and will naturally graduate to sleeping in his crib. Problem solved!

Love ya!

My son slept in his carseat for the first two months, that's the ONLY way he would sleep!

I found your blog through another and just had to comment on this! I love the paint job, and I think you do what you gotta do to get some sleep! If that means a bouncy in a crib, so be it! You guys are truly blessed, our family is praying for you all!

Wow, how special to get out to see Casey. That's gotta make her day! Love seeing the "changes" that take place in your household in each blog post. Can't wait for the next!

Oh say - just wanted to add that you should not be too surprised if the baby in the middle crib pulls him or herself over into the crib on the right. For us - that happened at about 8 months! Keep the camera handy!

Do you plan on using all 4 cribs right away? I had my twins in same crib for at least 6 months. It really saved on washing and I hated changing crib sheets. It'll be interesting to see your arrangement in another month or two!

My son took naps in the swing - whatever works!

If those bands look as cute as the walls in the nursery, you'll never want to take them off.

Love your blog!

Ben really is a stud getting his own wall! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your nursery - it rocks!

The nursery is so cute!! My guys would sleep a lot in the bouncy seat or swing! Madyson was the one who slept in them the most since she was our tempermental one, and still is! (As I listen to the sound of her screaming because she does not want to go to bed) Just wait until they are all pulling up and waking each other up! That will be when the fun starts.

Sleeping in the bouncy chair in the crib happened in our house and naps occurred in the swings for a LONG time. You just do whatever it takes to get some sleep!

I just happened across your blog and ... congratulations. Go you! Our twins' nursery hasn't been painted yet, and they're 20 months old. I can't imagine double that!
