Baby Dedication at Church

Yes...we braved the flu, cold, and every other type of sickness out there, to attend the baby blessing/dedication to God ceremony at our church this past Sunday. The church was SO great and really worked with us to make sure the babies were as healthy as possible while out of the confines of our house! We were able to come in late and go straight into a baby "nursing" room (private room) and then we walked the babies down to the stage, dedicated their lives to God, had some prayers, and then walked straight out of the auditorium into the burb!

A Baby Dedication is the act of dedicating our children over to God. The quads belong to the Lord, and we are so incredibly blessed to be able to raise them in a good, Christian home with tons of people who love them. Everyone in attendance was called to keep us accountable and to be godly influences over the lives of these children. Such an awesome event!!!

I have a few pictures downloaded (I DIDN'T TAKE ONE PIC WITH MY CAMERA!!! ARGH! Can you imagine getting four infants ready for church? Including myself and loading the babies in the burb and making sure they don't spit up on themselves?!! It was actually fun--I cannot WAIT to get these kiddos out and about!)...My good friend will be sending me the rest/majority of the pics...but here is a sneak preview!

Hiding out in the "cry room" before the dedication

Joe with Ben, Dan with Ethan, and Ed (Joe's bros)

Papa with Drew, Granna with Savannah

At the back of the auditorium, waiting to be called down to the front

Dan with Ethan, Joe with Sav, Me with Ben, Mom with Drew

Afterward...Ben got some good luvin' with one of his most favorite people in the world...Liz!

My snazzy, shabby chic, Diaper "bag"

It was nice making Joe load up all of the kiddos for once! (He's always working when I take the babies to their various doctors' appointments!)

At home...oh my gosh! Look how cute the boys are in their little sweater/vest combos! LOVE IT! Miss Priss had already given up on her shoes.

"Well, hellllloooooo ladies!" (Drew on the left, Ethan on the right)

Benny and Sav

Goofy dad...by this time, the kiddos are SOOOO done with taking pics

I wanted to see if I could get them ALL on my lap again!...I just LOVE the feeling of all of my babies in my arms at once--even if they are squirming and start screaming within seconds. So many times a day, I WISH so badly that I had more than two arms to love on these precious little wonders!!!

Dan and Dani with the kiddos...look how happy Savannah looks on Uncle Dan's lap! Too cute!

I'll post more pictures of this day when I get them! Tomorrow is another BIG day---bands come off for GOOD! WOO HOO! Joe is coming with me! (YAE) I'll definitely post pics and let you know how it goes!!

Beautiful! It is a wonderful thing to "give" these babies back to the Lord! Wow! It was about a year ago that I began reading about your anticipation of quads and look how far the Lord has brought ya'll. Things were a little scary at times and now such beautiful and healthy and perfect babies! God is good! Thanks for the beautiful post!

Yea, I'm pretty sure the boys in their sweater vests were some of the cutest things I've ever seen. Of course Savannah was adorable as always too with her big bow. :)

It is truly a miracle to see these big beautiful babies. When you compare the pictures to when they were born, it just blows your mind. So glad you could get them all ready and have a special time with your church family. Pray that the band removing trip goes smoothly and they all have beautiful little bowling ball heads now!

Oh my ~ couldn't you just eat them up? They are all beautiful and so blessed to have 2 wonderful parents to bring them up in the Lord. God Bless ~

They're not itty bitty anymore!! They look sooo big....they've definitely lost the newborn look. So cute!

That is awesome and they are just too precious for words. I am particularly fond of the "helllooo ladies" pictures...adorable!!!!
And I have to give you praise for loading those four kiddos into the car...I load our twins in and out every day and it's getting more difficult with each passing day!!!
But, yes, they are such blessings from God and we have so much to be thankful for.

And OK, I know the twins are "twins"...but wow! They look so much alike! Too cute.

And yes, Miss Priss looks so happy in that last picture! Big 'ol happy face!

Gorgeous family!!! Geez Suz you cant look so good after having 4 babies..it is totally not fair!!! The babies look adorable in their sunday outfits!

On a weird side note I have noticed that the twins feet always look like they are turned inward... I know I only see them in pictures but I was just curious why that is.. Are they a little bow legged?

Kate said...

the picture of joe with the four of them is great! he looks like savannah from the picture below in her cranial bancd (or does she look like him?, whatever) they are precious!

Katelyn said...

Oh my cow, did you really just have 4 babies? You look absolutely fantastic!! I am so excited you were able to go to the baby dedication and it seemed like everyone was in a spectacular mood. :) Congratulations on the bands too!

Anonymous said...

Their outfits are precious!! What a special day at your church :) Oh, and loved the caption under Ethan and Drew, "welll hellooo ladies"...hilarious!

Suzanne said...

anon #1- YES! the twins are VERY bow-legged/pigeon toed. it is quite obvious in pictures. they did NOT have any room in the womb to spread out and were smushed with their legs crossed at all times. we are currently doing stretches with them, hopefully they will grow out of it.

anon #2- (come on guys, post your names! lets be friends!) i am not a big fan of the food all over the face pics...i dunno...it is a weird quirk of mine. you are not the first person who has asked to see those pics. i might put one up here eventually if there are enough people who actually like those pics.

What a surprise to log in today and see all the baby dedication pics. The pics are all great. The babies have definitely lost the preemie/newborn look. They are adorable and clearly healthy kids. Yea for all your hard work and for staying house bound to protect the kids. The backpack may not be chic - but it is definitely practical when you have to carry enough stuff for 4 kids! I only had to worry about my twins and singleton - but I gave up my purse and only carried my wallet for about 2-3 years. I just threw it in the diaper bag. Take care!

They are so stinkin' cute!! It's official Suz, Ben looks just like you!! I know it can't be not easy, but yall look good doing it!

May God continue to guide you in raising the most beautiful quads I have ever seen! They are so cute! My 14 month old points to the computer and says baby all the time! Cute, cute family!

Dedicating your precious babies to the Lord is such a special thing. Our children are on loan to us from God and it is our responsibility to raise them as He would want us to. What an awesome responsibility it is. I'm sure you will continue to rely on Him for strength and guidance.

Oh, by the way, you look amazing and your babies are GORGEOUS!!!!

Are you making any money with the ads? I click on them every time I visit your blog.

I commend you on getting yourself, four 6 month olds, and your husband ready for church. We just have 2 kids and we are at least 30 minutes late every week to church. What is your secret? My son had to do a helmet, so I understand your excitement of the end of bands. The people at Cranial are wonderful though. I love your blog and it is really be an inspiration to me. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
