Easter Walk with Quads

It was so BEAUTIFUL this weekend that Joe and I got the quads out for a nice little stroll around the neighborhood. We've been walking them a lot lately which has been so refreshing for ALL OF US--going a little stir crazy! And yes, little Shiloh always gets to come as well!

Granted...the video isn't all that exciting, and you can't really even see the cute little fellas...but, the reason I posted was because of the awesome dialogue! Listen to my neighbor when she finds out we have quads...cracks me up. This is what we hear, all the time, anywhere we go. (But I LOVE it!) Those of you with multiples (especially quads) can relate! Ha! ;)

The babies were so exhausted that they passed out along the way. We left them in the strollers while we changed their bed sheets (****Which by the way, they are all out of their wedges! WOO HOO!!****)
I just thought this was a funny pic, asleep in their cute little sun hats!

Suz, that video is adorable. It certainly is a full house you have there. I love the comments as well...even with twins people say the funniest things.
Can I ask you how you uploaded the video? I have tried and tried and tried and nothing seems to work for me. I've tried through blogger and it always comes up with some error message. I take small video on my digital camera but can't seem to upload it. Maybe some of your readers can help me if your too busy. thanks. my email is hheerema@iinet.net.au

When I saw your first picture, I thought "Wow! That is a massive stroller!"....not realizing that it was two double strollers parked close together! Love the pics of all the kids passed out...strolling is hard work! Too cute!

LOL! I can completely relate, even though I don't have quads! heehee
My husband & I took our 9 kids to the park Saturday and were actually followed around by tourists who found us to be more fun to watch than the geese. LOL
It can be fun/funny at times, but other times just a HUGE UGH!
*If you get a chance to peek at my blog, it's this link for that post...

Glad that Texans have trouble counting to FOUR as well! I must say that Full House is a little more welcome that "You've Got Your Hands Full" for the 147th time in 2 minutes.
Fresh Air is such great Medicine! Love ya, girl!

I can't get over that picture of you standing with all 4 in a stroller! For some reason, that really put it even more into reality to me! I bet you get LOTS of comments when you go out! I'm glad y'all are getting to take them on walks! I know you are LOVING that! I was just thinking the other day about how it's almost April, which means you'll get to take them out and about now!! I can't wait for you to bring them all here! That'll be so much fun!

What I was more shocked at was that she didn't know you guys had Quads??!! Strange that your neighbor doesn't know, but there are people across the world that do! LOL! I agree, seeing you with all four of those babies together in the strollers makes it a little more real to us blogger friends! We just admire you all the more! I agree...sun just makes you feel better. How's Savy feeling?

I can so relate, but I only have twins and still get the same reactions. Love the pic of all the kiddos asleep...very cute!!!

You should start telling people that no, you only had three, but the hospital threw one in for free!

Happy Easter!

"All at one time?" Haha! That was hilarious!

You'll have to post a list of the funniest answers you've given to people (or maybe that's my sarcastic nature)...something like, "no, we adopted four that are exactly the same age!"

Glad you were able to enjoy the weather.

Now, I'm wondering...I couldn't get one to fall asleep in the stroller and you got 4!! Amazing!

That video is funny. We went to mcdonalds on our way to TX and 4 different families came up to talk to us and ask us questions and tell stories of twins that they know. I can't even imagine if you went somewhere like that with quads! I can relate about being cooped up in the house-we have been taking walks every day now that it has warmed up a bit. So refreshing to just get out of the house!

Sooo sweet! I would be one of those weird people who would just have to stop and stare. I mean, how often do you see 4 perfect little babies strolling down the street with their mommy, daddy and dog?? Love it! Thanks for sharing.

people and their comments...I have a 3 year old, 1 year old, and I am currently pregnant, and people ask me all the time if the two boys are mine...no i just take them out in public for fun! I am glad you can laugh off all the comments!

Anonymous said...

I get similar comments but it's not w/ kids, it's our dogs. When I walk my 3 1/2 year old, the 2 dachshunds ride along underneath the stroller, people will stop "Are those dogs under there?" Nope, not at all, they're cows.

"All at one time??" Priceless!! Y'all are just too cute!

You gotta love all those wacky comments! People are so funny sometimes. We always get, "Are they all yours?" No, we just pick them up randomly while we walk:) Just wait til you get that runabout up and running - it is SO worth it! Get out and enjoy the perks of livin in Tejas!!

I have to agree with another comment above & say it's too funny that people don't know their neighbors (I don't either) but I check in on about 20 blogs of strangers i have never met! i guess it's a sign of the times ~ technology has taken away the some of the intimacy in society.
Suz, you seem annoyed in the video when the neighbor starts talking to you guys (body language, lack of response, etc.) -- it sounds like she's just trying to be sweet & nice. Your hubby sounds like he's being really friendly though. I'm sure it's annoying if it's happens all the time ~ but sheesh! y'all have 4 babies & you certainly don't look like you've just had 4, so I'm sure people are VERY curious :)

Suzanne said...

anon- nope, not annoyed at all! you just can't hear me as well as my LOUD MOUTH hubby! haha...

Love the blog, but I'm thinking that banner should be downsized a little bit...That thing is HUGE!!

(just a thought..feel free to disregard)

Hi Suz - okay, just re-watched the video & you're right ... your hubby was just talking louder than you to the neighbor! haha. didn't mean to sound rude in my other post -- I just meant that you & your hubby are so cute and young & you're so thin ~ people are probably curious how 4 babies came out of your tiny, cute self! haha LOve the blog!

Hello blog buddies! It's me, Crouse! said...

hi there! i found your blog through some friends of mine from harding. I went to school there from 95 to 99. you really do look familiar! anyway, on my way down through the comments, i noticed you got a couple of anon negatives. i just think that is plain rude. first of all, you are so nice to let so many of us non-psycho blog stalkers peek into your blog life any time we want! second, you are always so positive! you really do seem like such a great person and a great mommy. i think people should keep their opinions to themselves unless you ask "do you think i was rude to the neighbor?" or "do you think my blog title is too big?" blog is perfect and very cute. have a great day!

Hey Suz,
Love it! That video just about sums it up. Mari is right.. wait til you have the runnabout up and running..... the comments are NEVER ENDING! :) Here are a couple fo my favorites:

"Two sets of twins?"
"Did you use a surrogate?"-um no!
"Was this natural?"
"4 triplets?"
"I hope your done!!!"
"Are they all yours?"
"Is this a day care?"
"Do you have help? You MUST have help!"
"How do you do it?"
"Did you "try" for quads?"

... I could go on and on.. you just learn to smile, laugh, and keep on walking. From the video it seems you have that down just right. People can't help but be curious. We quads moms do look like a bit of a circus out there in the world.

Love HELL week in Cali! The nap is just not happening!
XOXO
Gen :)

Wait a min. so is what your telling us is ALL of these babies are yours? heheheh
GEEZE some folks just let it fly right out dont they. Well the good news is that you DONT have nosey neighbors! Cant imagine anyone who could shrug it off any better. Its funny even with single babys if they are near in age you get crazy comments all the time. Wonder why people dont think its offensive to say wow better you than me! I always say yeah I agree:)

Blessings pretty lady;)

It looks like you all had a beautiful Easter weekend. It's SO nice to be able to get outside with the kids and Gen's advice is perfect. Just smile and keep on walking! I actually had someone tell me they felt sorry for me after asking if my girls were triplets...That was the most hurtful comment I have gotten to date. Be positive people!

Hugs girl!

I bet all that gets old. But I think that people in our society get shocked at anyone that has more than 1 or 2 kids. I have four singletons and all the time I get wow four kids! Are they all yours? I know you have your hands full! You know all the same comments. It's like your a freak show if you have more than a couple of kids. So even without quads you're not alone.

I have followed your blog throughout your pregnancy (I found it through a friend's blog). I have prayed for you and your babies and feel like I know you. My daughter has had reflux issues too. They were found at my 20 week sonogram - of course we didn't know the severity of her problems until her first surgery at 6 months. She is now 4 and had her 4th and final surgery at 2 1/2. I won't bore you with all of her problems. They weren't typical of reflux. Her urologist, who wrote the book in many areas of pediatric urology had never seen a case like hers, promised us he would fix her and he did. The key is of course prayer, and confidence in your doctor. Emma has almost no memory of all the procedures and hospital stays and her scars are fading. I would love to give you support if you need it. My email is ppjnsn@comcast.net. I will keep praying for all of you.

Sincerely,
Paula Johnson

Suzanne,

I have been reading your blog for months now. Thank you for sharing the happenings of the Steece's!

This is related to a previous post you did. Remember locking the kids in the car? (What Mommy wouldn't!)Well, I was at the gas station and my baby girl was in her car seat. I remembered reading your post, and so I made sure not to shut the door while I was pumping gas. I just left it a crack open. Little did I know that the door still latched closed!!!
Fortunately, I was close to home. So I ran into the gas station office, called my husband, and he came over and unlocked the car. Seriously, I think I am always going to have my keys with me! Word to the wise peeps - keeps keys on ya.

:)
