Perioperative Nurses

I started my new job last week and I LOVE it! I work for a nurse staffing agency called: Perioperative Nurses. It's a local agency here in the DFW area that only staffs operating room personnel. I make my own hours, work only when I want to, I can say where I want to go...it's SOOOOO nice! "Contracted" nurses who work for staffing agencies make about $10+ more an hour than "full-time" employees. I'm on Joe's benefits, so it works out perfectly for us! More money, less responsibility! What more could I ask for?? I love going to new facilities and learning new procedures and equipment, so I'm really enjoying it!

And, I've never had to purchase my own scrubs before. No longer are they the old, box-y, "make-you-look-20-pounds-heavier" type of scrubs...they are adorable! Check out some of my most recent purchases!

Cute, huh?

I am always so jealous of the nurses attire. They have it so nice-not worrying what to wear each day, getting to wear tennis shoes, and drawstring pants! Meanwhile I'm in heels and a suit sweating my buns off wondering why I can't wear scrubs, too!
Love the pics of the scrubs you picked out but not a huge fan of ones with cats on them!

a- ha! i guess it's kinda like "subbing" as a teacher

nicki- that is way cool! this service is definitely needed, anywhere! wish him luck for me!

k-i know, b/c i wear pajamas all day at work, i LOVE to dress up on the weekends! i think you feel better about yourself when you are all dressed up, looking good. (but i am in NO way complaining about getting to wear scrubs all day!) and no, i DON'T have any scrubs with cats/dogs/flowers/etc. ;) solids for me!

I'm so glad you're liking your new job! Those are cute scrubs. I wished all of the time that I could wear those teaching. It's so hard to think of something to wear 4 days a week every week (fri. we wore jeans). Do they have maternity scrubs? My new "scrubs" are t-shirts and pj bottoms or work-out pants. I know what you mean about liking to dress up any chance you can get now! Someday soon, I want to come see you, and we can have a playdate with James!

You don't look 10 lbs heavier! You look great for one thing... WISHING I COULD SAY THAT.... SCRUBBS are a bunch like BDUs. I really miss them somethings. I am so glad that you are enjoying your new jobs and learning new things too... 2 for 1... you can't beat that... I lived in my maternity bdu pants most of my pregnancy because they are so comfy and talkable easy to get into... Loving the new scrubbs ...scrubbs with class... ;) laters....
