Sonogram 3

I got this picture off of the "babygaga" website. My little ones are now "officially" fetuses...this is a textbook pic of what they look like. The website also stated: "Chances for miscarriage are greatly reduced when the heartbeat can be detected, so take a sigh of relief if you’ve been needing one—it hasn’t been an easy ten weeks!" (smile!!)

All four of my babies are still alive and kickin!!! They were rockin' and rolling in my belly yesterday during their sonogram. My mom was able to go with me to my appt. and was able to see her grandchildren moving for the first time! My aunt, and mom's identical twin sister went with me as well! What a blessing! (I'll write more about that later!)

I am amazed at how much bigger they are now, just within 10 days! They have little arm and leg buds...SO CUTE. This isn't the BEST pic, but it was the first time the sonographer was able to capture all 4 babies and all 3 sacs as one image.

My identical twins are on the left. Their heads are facing each other and their bodies are going in opposite directions (in this pic, you can only see the head of the twin on the left). The other two sacs, on the right and bottom, contain each of my fraternal twins. All babies are the same size and have good, strong heartbeats. (Praise God)

It is STILL crazy to talk about it. It almost feels like a dream. I SEE the sonogram and I see their little hearts beating and bodies moving, but it is still hard to believe that all of this is taking place inside of MY body! It is truly amazing!

Answers to many questions I am receiving:
* I am currently 10 weeks (starting my 11th week)
* I will be on COMPLETE bedrest in exactly 10 weeks or sooner (by my 20th week)
* I am more than likely going to spend the last half of my bedrest in the hospital, being monitered
* I will find out the sex of my babies in about 8-10 weeks (maybe sooner, b/c I will be having sonograms every week it seems)...question: parents of other quads, when were YOU able to find out the sex?
* I have an appt. on Monday the 26th with a maternal-fetal specialist who I hear is INCREDIBLE: Dr. Tabor....very excited!
* I am nervous that I have only gained 3 pounds...I am drinking Ensure everyday to try to pack on pounds.

Thank you again for all of your prayers and comments! You brighten my day! It is so fun to see all the many different people who make their way to my blogsite! Keep on praying and encouraging, as I will keep you all updated every step of the way!

Hey Suzanne, I got here from Amanda's blog. I was looking through old pictures the other night and saw you in a Beauticians spring sing picture. Gosh, how things have changed since then! Just want you to know that we are praying for your sweet babies. I have to say that I've never really been able to tell what I was looking at in a sonogram, but it's amazing how much you can see in yours. They really do like 4 little babies in there. I'm so excited for you!

Suzanne,

You don't know me, but I had to say congratulations and I will keep your growing family in my prayers. I found your site through the McNulty Quads. I have 18 month old triplet girls, so I love finding/following other families with multiples. Hang in there and take it easy when you can and EAT-EAT-EAT!

God bless,
Casey Quilao

Suzanne,
Oh. My. Goodness. That's all I can say about the sonogram. It blew me away! I bet your mom and Judy were bawling their eyes out! You have to promise me that you will let me come over and hold your babies...now that we live 25 minutes apart, I'll come over and help you with a night duty every once in a while! You are so strong (you always have been) and I am proud of you and Joe.
Love, Marcy

Okay-I so wish I were in your predicament about needing to gain weight. Have you had any Krispy Kremes or chocolate? That sounds much better than ensure, although I bet that's healthier?

I got your blog from Katie in Memphis. I think she is friends with your husband's brother??Anyway, I have so enjoyed reading your story. My husband and I just found out that we're having triplets after one round of Clomid. We're so happy but so overwhelmed,so I can definitely relate. Take care of yourself.

Yum! Ensure! My 92 year old grandma couldn't survive without it. :?) She'll enjoy knowing that someone much younger appreciates the benefits of Ensure.

Do the baby's heartrates indicate boys or girls yet? At my 22 week appointment today, the doctor guessed that Sam was a girl b/c of his heart rate (145). He's not a girl! Just a wiggle worm!

You are looking great! I love the ultrasound pic. Have you read the book by Dr. Luke, "When Your Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads"? It is great. It has helped me to figure out what to eat and to make me feel better about all the weight I am putting on :-)
