Weekend Update from the Bedridden Quad Preggo

Two of my best friends from Houston drove to come spend time with me this weekend! I got to show them my new house and take them out to dinner at local restaurants. It was a blast! Here's a picture of Lori, Aracely, and me from this past Saturday night.

Okay, okay...so, maybe I'm hallucinating...been stuck in this hospital room for what seems like YEARS!! But it made for a much more entertaining story, eh? Sounds a lot better than: "Lori and Aracely sat on a little sofa in my hospital room for 12 hours and watched me eat every two hours, get my finger stuck 4 times, get vital signs taken every couple of hours, etc." All I can say, is it takes a GREAT friend to sit there and endure that all day! ;) I WILL say that they sure did get a big kick out of watching me try to roll out of bed with my enormous abdominal tumor of love every hour to use the restroom. (Go ahead...laugh it up girls!) They also loved getting to feel the quads during their daily routine soccer game in my tummy. It was SOOOO good to see my buddies and spend time catching up!

I've been in this hospital for a little over a week and it seriously feels like SOOOO much longer! Ahhhhhh! Tomorrow marks 26 full weeks! So that is exciting!

Dr. Tabor is finally back from his week long vacation! (PHEW!) He said he was glad to see that I was still here...and I replied, "YA- ME TOO!"
And bummer...but I have to start on INSULIN SHOTS tonight! :( !
I was hoping I wouldn't have to go there for several weeks...but oh well. My blood sugar is just all over the place and they had maxed out the dosage of Glyburide on me, so...it's that time! Gotta protect those wee little ones inside my belly

Several of you have asked about the nursery progress:
This weekend my BF, Adriane and her husband are going to paint our nurseries as gift to us! (Isn't that awesome??) Adriane is so talented with interior design and creativity...it definitely runs in her family. Ade's mom will be coming up to help, along with my dad, mom, Aunt Judy, and of course, Joe. Here is Ade holding the rug she got to go in our rooms...these are the colors she will be using. (Brown, blue, green, and orange) So weird to think that I will not be able to see it or help organize my own nursery until I am home from the hospital and am a mom for the first time! Joe will have to take lots of pics! ;)

that's so wonderful that you have friends who are going to do the nursery for you. It must seem wierd to not do it yourself - but what a wonderful surprise it will be when you finally get to go home and see your nursery all perfect and ready for you!

I didn't get to help fix up my nursery either. It made me sad, but that was okay. I've had planty of time since then to move things around, and really I've ended up re-organizing things several times the last year. So you'll get your chance! Never fear!

I check your blog daily - I absolutely love your sense of humor and the positive energy that you are putting out into the universe. You totally got me today with this post - I was like "WHAT . . she is supposed to be in the hospital!!". You are good! It is not even April 1st!

Yep, I was freaking out too. "She is supposed to be in bed!!!" I'm glad you're doing so well and still having fun with your friends. Praying for at least 2 more weeks!!!! Good luck with the insulin shots...

I talked with Joe at church yesterday, and told him that Karen and I had made a big mistake when we took your blog address last week. He kinda looked at me like "what". Then I explained that it has become addictive to find out the next installment of your humor and wit. He just laughed and immediately understood what I ment.

Keep up the positive engery, and grow those babies! We are praying for you all.

I have called your hospital room several rooms, but haven't gotten a hold of you. Is it a bad time to come out? Marty and I would love to see you, but don't want to come when you're all worn out.

Just email me and let me know!

We are praying for you! Dallas

Please, I knew right away. I've been keen to her hijinks for 11 years. She's never gotten one by me, he said fecetiously . And then wondered if he spelled that anywhere close to being right.

What sweet friends you have! And 26 weeks - way to go!

Is that a picture of you with the insulin shot? I'm kinda thinking not...

you "almost" had me going... I was getting ready to pick up the phone and call every hospital in Texas and find those nurses who let you out of your room... he he.. Just kidding!

What great friends you have to sit with you!! If I lived in TX I would come sit with you too.. how weird would that be for you to sit with a total stranger.. that alone could make you go into labor...

Sounds like Melissa Mullinax is going to set you up with a great photographer.. TAKE ADVANTAGE of that one!! She only knows the best of the best! She won't let you down!!

Great Job.. keep going!

Suz,

Thanks for answering my questions on your blog. You seen truly blessed to have such great friends and a loving church family. Can you see yourself driving a big conversion van or hoping for a bigger SUV? The hardest thing I ever did was trade in the SUV for a van. You look great, Can't wait to see the nursery pics. Keep smiling you are almost to the finale.
