You Wanted More Pictures?

First of all, how cute is Joe? There is no one else in the world I would want by my side to go through all of this with...we constantly keep each other laughing and try to make the best out of this extraordinary situation. He is without a doubt, my best friend and is going to be an incredible dad!

For all you women out there who have been jealous of my lack of stretch marks throughout this crazy pregnancy...well, fret no more. The inevitable has happened within the past week or so...

Yep, I will forever call them my battle scars of love...for my body is SURELY at war to keep these babies inside and growing! I have reached the point where I am 100% completely and utterly uncomfortable at all times. It is beginning to get very difficult for me to breathe, with the babies all up in my diaphragm. Sorry friends and family who try to call, I just can't talk very long at all without getting completely out of breath. I am trying to keep a positive attitude about it, but some days really get me down.

Lately it has been very difficult for me to look in the mirror and NOT see this:

My 4 weeks pregnant belly shot. But I know when I hold my little babies in my arms, none of this will matter...just something every pregnant woman goes through...RIGHT?!??? (well...multiplied by FOUR!)

On a brighter note, the people at my dad's bank are amazing! They threw him a surprise "Quad-Pa" shower. Look at this incredible four-tiered "diaper-cake" with a level for each baby! Isn't it adorable? Not to mention the money that was fastened to the cake! I just wanted to give a BIG thanks to Jodi, Jill, Dena, and Beverly for putting it together and the other 52 people who contributed to the cake. You are appreciated more than you can imagine. I will bring the quads up to the bank for you all to love on, one of these days! ;)

This is a pic of my first grade teacher and good friend of the family givin some good lovin' to the babies. Look at that belly! (and this was a couple of weeks ago!)

Joe being silly and making me laugh...

My brother-in-law, Dan, and his girlfriend, Dani, (yes, Dan and Dani..how cute are they?) came by to love on me a little. They put together an awesome gift basket! It was so good to see them.

(So weird that I barely recognize myself lately, even just looking in the mirror...who is this person? And what have you done with Suz???)

Suz, You still look sooo great! You are adorable! I'm so glad to see that belly shot! I think it's awesome! I'm so sorry that you're so uncomfortable. I can't imagine the toll that's taking on your back. Thinking about you and praying daily for you, Joe, and your quads!

Suzanne, you look fabulous and the pictures don't show the stretch marks. They say to rub your belly with different creams to help with that. Cocoa butter comes to mind. Have you had a sonos lately? How are the babies? I remember the breathless feeling and the difficulty in holding long coversations. I only carried twins - but they were breach - and by the time I was 28 weeks along - I was breathless too. So, I can only imagine how uncomfortable 4 babies would be for someone with your small frame. I feel for you! Take care and try to enjoy the experience. Easier said, then done. Right?

You are bringing four lucky babies into this world. Your attitude throughout this pregnancy shines in your entries. Hubby Joe seems like a wonderful man! Don't forget, being down from time to time only makes you human. Cry, laugh, giggle... do what you need to do!

Suzanne,

Through all of this you haven't lost your smile and I think that speaks volumes. I'm sorry to hear that you are uncomfortable all the time---you are right though, once you see those 4 babies it will all be forgotten so quickly. Have to agree, I also can't see the stretch marks in the pictures...but you are wearing that belly so PROUDLY.
Hang in there and a big WOO-HOO for 28 weeks. You are awesome:)

You look fabulous. You are already the perfect Mommy. It starts in carrying the baby (or in your case babies). You are doing a great job keeping those sweeties in. Just a little longer and it will all be worth it.

BTW my best friend's name is Dani and I have never seen nor met another one especially with the same spelling (NEAT).

You are absolutely amazing! I hurt for you and your discomfort. I think every pregnant woman goes through that "who is this person" toward the end of a pregnancy. I have some "battle scars" and that was just with one in there. You are a such a trooper:) Love the belly picture and we are praying for those babies in there and for you & Joe.

That is an awesome diaper cake:)

Suz you are one incredible woman! I am constantly AMAZED at the grace and trust in the Lord you have had throughout the pregnancy. You & Joe are incredible!!!

Plus, if you consider what your dr said about taking them at 32 wks, you've got under a month left... Which I know means 30 some odd LOOONG days in the hospital, but those uterine hitch-hikers will be in your arms then hopefully.

You're in SO MANY people's prayers! It's great to see so many people do kind things like that shower at your dad's work - WOW!

I think 75% of Waco is praying for you right now! I think you just look AMAZING! You are such a beautiful person and really this prego x 4 body invasion thing has done NOTHING to diminish that! Trust all these good bloggers when we tell you YOU LOOK GREAT! I just wish you felt great! So, so sorry that you are so uncomfortable... It probably doesn't help much, but this too shall pass...eventually. It's really hard at the end because you so want what is best for those babies,to stay in,BUT you don't want to not hurt anymore which requires those babies to GET OUT! Praying for some phyiscal and mental comfort for you as you endure these last weeks! You are doing SOOO great! And if you didn't have some down days, you would not be human! Loving you from Waco! (Hope to actually meet you someday!)

Hi Suzanne,
I just wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed reading your blog. Your words are very inspiring and uplifting to me. I heard about your story through a friend at church. She is friends with one of your friends. :) I have also had some fertility struggles and am at a very high risk of multiples. I just found out I am pregnant again after miscarrying in May and your story has made a very positive impact on me. I wish you and your husband and your four babies the best.

Hang in there Suz!!! You are doing great and look amazing. I feel your pain more than you know. I don't go online very often but when I do I make sure to see how your doing. It brings back soooo many memories (one day you'll feel that way too). The 28 wk mark was when I got my battle scars too. Each stretch mark is worth it... PROMISE!!! Conor would call me the S.S. MCNULTY.. haha.. very funny! At 28 wks is also where I started to get down as well. Just keep smiling and keep that positive attitude alive.

One day soon all four of those beautiful babies will be crawling down the hallway with there little diapered butts to you.. and you'll know it was worth it. During my bed rest that was the image that made me happy and kept me going.... and believe it or not... it came true.

My pregnancy was so hard ... and today (against all the odds) my 32 weekers are normal 14 month olds and the pregnancy is a distant memory. Once they come into the world nothing else matters. You will get through this... and it will be wonderful. If you ever need to talk, I'm here.

Have a good night.. I'm off to put my rug rats to bed!

Hang in there!! You are in the home stretch now!! I hated being out of breath. Its such a scary feeling. I remember during the c-section once they had the first 2 babies out I could suddenly take a big deep breath. It was just this huge weight lifted off of me (literally :)) and that was before the 3rd was even out.
BTW...do they have a therapy pool or whirlpool at your hospital you could get an order to go to. At 28 weeks I convinced my doc to let me go to our therapy pool by wheelchair with PT. I worked up to being able to go 3 times a week for about an hour as long as I didn't contract and my cervix stayed stable. It was AWESOME! It took so much pressure off and relaxed me so much. I just thought I would throw out that idea in case they have that available to you.
You are doing great!!!!

Congrats on making it over 28 weeks. :) Are you breathing a big sigh of relief? Or as big a sigh as you can? I have commented before..and have been keeping up on your status. I know how hard it is!!! But you are already such a good mom. You're suffering gladly so those babies can keep on cooking. Can you imagine any other time you would willingly just lay in bed on a doctor's orders? People kept telling me they were amazed I could do it...and I just said "how could I not???" I was on strict bedrest for 16 weeks...and I am SO greatful that I could be on strict bedrest for 16 weeks. I only had 1, so I'm sure I wasn't anywhere near as uncomfortable as you are, but the mental part of being on bedrest was worse than the physical. It's amazing how difficult it is to rely on others for EVERYTHING. Please get me a pen, some juice, a book, etc. I'd find myself saving up lists of things I needed...so I could ask for everything all at once. Sounds like you have a good team taking care of you.

Keep up the good work! We're working on becoming a family of 6 as well....the last one is through adoption. We'll have 4 that are 5 years and younger though...not all the same age. :)

We're still praying for you!

You don't know me, but I found your blog through a friend. I love it! I'm the mom of 6 month old twins and I can't imagine twice that. I loved reading about your ultrasound day. It sounded just like the day I had mine. I wasn't on fertility drugs and twins didn't run in my family so it was definitely a shocker. You totally look awesome. I can't believe there are 4 babies in there. I went 35 weeks with my twins one 4 lbs and one 5 lbs. Luckily they were both healthy. (I ate plenty like the Dr's told me too!) Sorry to hear you are so uncomfortable, but it will all be over with before you know it. Your husband sounds awesome!!! You'll need his love and support more than anything!

You all are in my thoughts and prayers and can't wait for the next update!

I know I've "only" got three babies in me, but I'm only five feet tall, and I haven't been able to breathe since about 15 weeks, especially now that I'm laying down all the time. Dear Suzanne, You don't know me but I have been following your story for a while. I am a mother of twins and stories about multiples always interest me. I have a sugesstion if you don't mind. I don't know if you intend to breast feed or bottle, although as a nurse and mom of premie twins, I know they reccomend breast milk for premies a lot of the time, at least at first. (I also know moms of multiples usually make a lot of milk.) The suggestion I had was in case you intend to bottle feed. Every state has a department that issues WIC, a nutrition and food supplement program that is for Mom's and Children up to the age of 5 years. It provides formula, cereal, and juice at appropropriate ages. In special circumstances such as prematurity it also provides special types of formula such as 24 cal premie formula. If you check with the Texas Dept. Of Health, they could tell you a lot more about it. I know formula for twins was really expensive, I can't even imagine buying it for 4. I hope this helps in some small way. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Congratulations!

You don't know me but I live in Nashville and had heard about you from some friends at church and then stumbled across your blog. I'm addicted to checking it daily and when I read your reaction to finding out about the quads, I burst out crying like a baby. I have been following your journey and pray for you, Joe and the babies daily. You are truly an inspiration to so many and you are making a difference all over the world. Your attitude and faith will bring others to Christ. Please know that we are praying for you in Nashville. Keep staying positive. I think that's the reason why these babies are hanging on. I know it sounds shallow, but it is disheartning when you've made it this far and the stretch marks come. That was one of the last straws for me. You are so little that your stomach will probably go right back down within 6 weeks. Take care and I can't wait to see pictures of your 4 babies. We will be praying for their health when they come. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
