Scrap Booking- A' La Cranial Bands!

Alright, the long-awaited, highly-anticipated unveiling of the BE-AUtiful cranial bands that I decorated is upon you...(yes, I WANTED to paint the bands a solid color...but QUICKLY realized that there was absolutely NO POSSIBLE WAY!) Oh, I also only had ONE HOUR to sticker these bands and seal them with a double coating of Mod Podge...seeing as how the babies can only be out of their bands ONE HOUR every day for bathing and band cleaning! (It might have been a little over an hour...) ;)

Drew looks much happier than before, eh?

He is a sweet boy and is SO blessed...

Definitely a miracle...and I would say that Drew is my most independent baby with the most energy!

Ethan (for some reason has a double chin in this pic...not usually...but I love it!)

What a miracle you were & ARE, Ethan!

E has the cutest laugh and giggles the most out of anyone. I LOVED the "eyes full of wonder" sticker b/c Ethan has had his eyes wide open since day ONE of his birth! Always looking around, taking everything in!

He is my adorable, little man...he was our smallest baby at 2 lb 7 oz!

I can't get enough of this face! We see it quite often! Right here Ben is saying: "WHY won't you just let me go to sleep!?"...Just LOOK at that bottom lip! I can't help but laugh at him...
Followed immediately by: "Oh, mommy...you are so funny!" Seriously...seconds....

Ok, so Ben's stickers pretty much speak for themselves!

IS HE EVER!

Ben's cute smile takes up his entire face! (Just like his momma's! An attribute that used to annoy me, but I have come to LOVE it when I see Ben with it!)

Savannah is SO excited about her new girly, fashionista, hat! She was mesmerized by the shiny, sparklie crystals!
So cute! Her smile looks a lot like Ben's! I am amazed at how alike Savannah and Ben are...in so many ways! And how alike Ethan and Drew are! It's funny...(eating, sleeping, playing, temperaments, crying, smiling, facial features, etc)

Sweet & Spunky...like the crown??? yes sir! Queen of the household!

BLING BLING!

LOVED the Supergirl stickers I found...I MADE them work (they were very stiff)...Love that the "S" can stand for Savannah too! She is PRINCESS SAVANNAH! What a blessing...and a little DIVA, no doubt! Daddy's girl HAD to make it on there...my heart MELTS every time I watch Joe and Savannah interact with each other.

Quick story: (ok ok, finish the pictures then come back and read...) Yesterday when I was feeding Sav at her 6pm feeding...in walks her daddy and she completely turns her head away to stare at him as he started talking in his low voice...I couldn't get the bottle back in her mouth because her head was completely turned. I kept trying to move her head back and re-position the bottle, but every time, she would turn back to look at her daddy! Eventually, Joe finished feeding her as she continued to make "google eyes" at him! It was TOO CUTE! (ridiculous...but adorable! Keep in mind--this is an every day occurrence!)

"Bad Hair Day"...I just couldn't pass this one up!

Here are the front of the boys...all sports themed, of course!

oh, Ben's says "touchdown" b/c he is always stretching...ALWAYS...and throwing his hands up in the air (football's "touchdown" signal)...every time he does this, we say "TOUCHDOWN BEEEEENNNN!!!!" and he smiles and giggles

Here are the wedges in the cribs

And King Ben, on his throne....such a character!

Oh, new weights from the Pedi's office today...are you ready for this???!!!

Big Ben is 15 pounds

Little Ethan (my smallest baby) is 14.15! YES....one OUNCE less than Ben! I just don't see how that is possible!

Drew is 14.12

and Miss Priss is VERY petite at 13.4 (man, when you pick Savannah up after holding one of her brothers, you almost throw her into the air b/c she is TINY compared to them! SO CUTE and widdle! She acts like a little girl and makes the cutest feminine coos and noises...LOVE IT!)

Love your creativity in showing the personalities of each of your children in their bands....they will love the pictures and explanations of them when they are older. Such cuties! Blessings, Linda L.

How did you do EACH of those within an hour??? You are so talented! What a great way to express each one of them. So unique! Love them all! You're the bomb! (you deserve a big "S" too!)

Love the bands =) !!!

But I do have one concern: how are the little bling-blings attached to Savannah's? I always worry about choking. Then again - perhaps between their young ages and the fact that the bands are being worn for only several weeks - it is an un-necessary worry?

very cute bands you did a great job!!
come on anonymous!! do you ACTUALLY think Suz would do anything that would potentially harm these babies? You must forget that she is an RN as well as a great mommy!!

I have been following your blog for sometime. You are all truly blessed with these 4 beautiful miracles. I have to say that if you ever want to bring in some extra money, you could help fancy up other children's bands. I know that other parents would probably LOVE the idea!

Love the bands! It's really neat how you took the personalization to the next level with each one of them! What a lucky little girl and boys!

They are doing great with their weights, too! My little girl (who is a singleton and born 30 minutes past her due date) was only 13lbs, 13 oz at 6 months! Your kiddos are doing awesome! God is good!

OH. MY. WORD. I LOVE the bands!!! You did such a great job! I knew they would be cute...but I never imagined that they would be THIS cute! You will have to keep those forever...I'm sure you will since they cost as much as a car! Anyways, GREAT job. I love them all. And the supergirl "S" on Savannah's is great! Love all the bling.

The story of Sav and her daddy is precious. Daddy's girl. I bet he isn't wrapped around her little finger at all, huh?!!

I LOVE how the bands turned out! Our biggest triplet is getting fitted for his band at the end of this month. I love the scrapbooking idea!

I'm bummed that it's tough to paint though! What made it difficult to paint? Message me on my blog if you get a chance!

Jodi said...

You rock. Seriously, your kids are going to grow up telling all their friends how their Mom is the coolest. :) The bands are amazing and I love the thought and love that went into that!! :)

Can I also say how amazing that pic is of all your babies sleeping so sweetly and soundly in their wedges ALL AT THE SAME TIME?!?! You should write a book!

Thanks for the updates on their weights. God has been so good to their little growing bodies! Many wonderful answers to many continued prayers. :)

The bands look so cute! I love reading your blog. I have twins so I can relate to half of your workload, and I just love the fact that you always seem so upbeat ... you truly seem to understand what a blessing your children are, and it's awesome to see. I pray that you'll always feel that way, even on those really tough days. You're an inspiration!

You really did a great job on the bands Suz! I love how they came out! If my kids ever needed them, I would feel so much better after seeing your pictures!!

What an awesome job on the bands Suz! I don;t know the first thing about scrapbooking - beyond loving to look what creative people like you can create! The babies look great, and they sure had a terrific report from the pediatrician today! GREAT JOB JOE AND SUZ!

JAMIE'S CREW said...

Oh! you know that I have boy/girl twins. They are so similar in many ways that you mentioned about Ben and Sav. And yet they are so different! At birth they were separated by only 4 ounces, but at 8 years old Ryan outweighs Megan by a whopping 12 pounds. He is in the 75th percentile on weight and she is in the 60th.

You did a wonderful job on the bands...they are beautiful and your daughters is just precious! thanks for sharing with us all.

Lovin it all! Great job! We laugh and say our 3 month old is "Bipolar baby" b/c she will be so happy and then sad - just like Ben!

Kelly said...

BTW, can anyone tell me where to get wedges like that for the crib? My 3 month old has reflux.

Kristi said...

Ok, you just saved me a TON of headache! I'm glad I didn't try painting them!

Rowan may need one too, but fortunately Joey's head is only 10mm off, so he won't need one. The bad part is is that our trio is 9 months old- so they are going to have to wear the bands longer. Instead of 4-6 weeks, more like 4-6months. :( I wish we would have been told about the bands sooner so we could have gotten them in them. Ah well, what can ya do.

Thanks for sharing pics, they are ADORABLE as usual! Getting so big!!

Suz, Clark (our Superman) has met his match! What's up chunkers? Awesome weights thanks to you and Joe's hard work! Way to go, Miss Texas!

You did a great job on those bands! I love the Texas A&M stickers. My husband has a hat from there - he's Canadian, but an American sports fan at heart.

Your babies are looking so grown up!!

Melissa Halford said...

What little stylish babies! I think they are adorable and they will die that you decorated them when they see those pics when they are older! The pic of Ben in bed brings back SO many memories. Keaton slept like that (in an identical bouncy seat) for the longest due to his terrible reflux! I will have to send you a pic. And those weights are INSANE! Yall seriously rock the parent world. I am hoping my kids hit 20lbs next week at their 15 month check up!

Courtney said...

You did a fantastic job! Way to go. I am impressed x 4! They are getting so big and so sweet. Ben and Sav do look a lot alike and of course the E and Drew do...fun fun...

Joe & Suz....you 2 are absolutely incredible! I didn't find your blog until last week, and then spent into the wee hours reading and catching up on everything! God is so good and he knew that you 2 could handle 4!

All I can say is quads born at 30 weeks who weigh what yours weigh at this stage in the game ROCK! You, Joe and all those Diapers Darlings should be very proud! WOW!!! Seriously Suz, you make this quad thing look tons easier than I know it is! Praise God that he has given you exactly what you need to be the parent you need to be AND that he has blessed these babies with amazing health and growth! Wooo Hooo! God is good!

Hey, Suz (and other moms who read Suz's stuff!)

Just wanted to make sure you know about Gift to Grow through Pampers? I don't know what brand of diaper you use, but Pampers has codes on the inside of their packages that you enter onto a website and collect points, which you can then redeem for books, videos, etc. It ends March 1, but with as many booties as your keeping diapered, I bet you could rack up some points!

This is the web address I have bookmarked, or you could probably google "gifts to grow by pampers" and find the site.

http://pampers.eprize.net/giftstogrow/index.tbapp?page=finding_codes&menuitem=collect_points&session_id=a6igvmjzmvoug78i&locale=en_US#anchortag

A book is like 20 points, and each big box of diapers from Sams gives you about 10 points.

Hope you can get some freebies!

Out of "lurkdom" to say I love your blog. It's so full of love and happy things. The bands all decorated with your talent are precious. You need to start a side job and sell those things back to the company and make a profit. Get on the payroll and use the money to buy you a REAL van. You'll show them. Bless you all.

Suz,

Do you mind if I ask if you still have the kids' bands? My sweet girl is getting hers in about a week and a half, and I can't wait to pretty-it-up - I was just wondering if you may still have them so that you could give me some rough measurements of the spaces!

Thanks!
