The Best Birthday and Mother's Day!

Oh my gosh. This has been such an awesome weekend! Saturday night, my parents sat the quads so Joe and I could meet some great friends out for my "Birthday Dinner". We went to Joe T. Garcia's in downtown Fort Worth. There is no other food in the WORLD, better than MEXICAN FOOD! Salsa runs through my veins! ;)

Joe T's was the first place I went after excruciating bedrest and quad delivery--I had been dying for some Mexican food and it was close to the hospital where the quads were in the NICU! This pic was two days after I had been discharged from the hospital (August 2007)! Ha! Suz is a tad-bit swollen! ;) But I was luvin it! So good to be out in the real world again! So, being there again brought back many memories!

Here we have: Liz (a forever friend whom I have come to love within the past 9 months!), Me, Christy (met Christy and her husband Adam through some great friends in Houston and have come to LOVE them as our own!), and Ashley (sis-in-law whom I LOVE as my own blood--so blessed to have her in my life!)...lots of love going around! ha! ;)

The men: Collin (my bro--LOVE him so much!), Adam (Christy's hubby), Joe (Suz's hubby), and Chris (Liz's hubby).

God has blessed me RICHLY by putting Liz in my life. Within the first 5 minutes that I had met Liz, she had gotten down on the floor, picked up two of my preemies in her arms, and bounced one in her lap! I knew this girl was INCREDIBLE! We have so much in common and I have grown to love her as a sister. The fact that my quads are so blessed to have her in their lives, is just icing on the cake! Liz loves my babies as if they were her own and I can't tell you how much that means to me!

It was SO good to get out with friends! Thanks MOM & DAD for watching the kiddos!

(Warning--this is going to be gushy gushy love stuff...but I can't help it! I want to remember what I'm feeling at this moment!)

Mother's Day 2007...17 weeks preggo with quaddies

So, I have to say...experiencing Mother's Day for the very first time in my life as a new mom--was the most incredible feeling!!! Obviously, we had prayed for babies for a VERY long time...and today while sitting in church, holding my babies, I couldn't help but tear up like 5 times! I would look down the row and see my parents and Joe holding a baby and just well up with emotion--it is so incredibly humbling and I just can't get over how amazing God's love is...

Started off the morning with a good cry when I received these from my husband. I am SO proud to wear my babies on my wrist! Very similar to when we had the NICU bracelets on!

Beautiful day outside after church...Mother Hen with her chicklings...Benjamin Stephen, Savannah Leigh, Ethan Joseph, and Andrew Paul Steece

MY momma with her little baby girl...(you're never too old to be your momma's baby girl!)

Also, this is something very neat! My mother-in-law and I both have May birthdays, right around Mother's Day. TODAY is Kate's birthday--on Mother's Day! So special...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY and MOTHER'S DAY! WE LOVE YOU!
The babies can't wait to come play in Austin with you in a couple of weeks! (I love this pic of Kate with Baby Ben)

Happy Mother's Day to all you beautiful, strong mommas out there!!!! Love You All! (like I said, super gushy lovey dovey today!)

Ok, where to start!!! Girl, I feel the same way about you. I remember the first time I came over and felt like I had known you forever. I don't have a sister but you might as well be mine. I know everyone tells you this but you inspire them but it's so true for me.You are an amazing mother, woman and friend. I love all the times that we get to hang out. I know God put you in my life for a reason, and I'm beyond blessed by knowing the Steece family. So glad I came over and watched the quads that day, I met one of my best friends!!!! I do love the quads so much and would do just about anything for you guys!!

Happy Mother's Day Suz! You are so lucky to be surrounded by such love; no wonder, it multiplies and shines through the love you share of your family and kids.

That sounds mushy gushy to me!

Ok so I'll admit it...I'm totally your blog stalker. I don't even know how I found it, but I just think your little family is so cute. I haven't ever left you a comment cause I'm a total stranger and you might be creeped out, but I just have to ask. How the heck are you so skinny after having quadruplets!?!?!? It's not fair!

Happy Mother's Day, Suzanne! No one deserves a bigger celebration today than you! I'd love to know where Joe got the bracelets - those make me teary too!

Suzanne..Congrats on your first mothers day! This is kinda random, but in the pic right after you had been discharged from the hospital....how long were you on bedrest in the hospital?? Just wondering. I had to be on bedrest in the hospital with Caleb for 5weeks....hardest time of my life. Theres more to the story, but I was just wondering how long you had to stay in the hospital?? Your kids are precious, glad you had a great day.

Hello Suz and family - Fellow Blogger and dedicated reader here from Sacto, Ca.

I have a Question and comment.

Questions: In your Mothers day Post, where did you get those beautiful bracelets with the babies names?I would love to have something like that with my boys names made

And second, in your blog from your Texas excursion, you posted the must haves of the trip and one was the little bug that coos and laughs! I picked it up for my 4 month old and he LOVES it, He stops fussing immediately upon showing it to him, he just loves watching it and even coos back to it..

God Bless,
Joan

Alrighty.. now that I got that off my chest.. he he he!!! Joe is one lucky dude!

Anyway, that post was just beautiful it made me cry. I know just how you feel. God is good and you can see his love in those babies smiles.

I'm glad you had a great bday and mother's day. Your one special mommy.

Love you!

Your FIRST Mother's Day. You'll never forget it. But, it gets really fun when your kids are old enough to make you Mother's Day gifts in preschool. Little handprints with poems. Stuff you'll charish forever.

I LOVE the videos below. The big smiles on your babies faces just melt my heart. You'll miss those big gum smiles.

Glad you enjoyed Mother's Day and your birthday!!

Glad you had an amazing weekend. You deserve it. Love the bracelets. I've been meaning to ask you--do you like the alpha foam puzzle mats? Thinking about getting Walker some...I've heard mixed reviews...no hurry in a reply--just wanted to ask. Have a great week.

Beautiful post....but I can't help but ask...Where did you get those abs from? Seriously? I understand why you have perfectly toned arms! But your stomach looks perfect! Not like you carried quads at all. Please tell me you don't do sit-ups in addition to your daily marathon of four babies.

What is your secret?

I can't believe you were able to get such a great photo with all 4 babies and nobody was crying. Most of the twin mummies I know couldn't even get their 2 to behave for the camera. Do you watch the show John and Kate plus 8? Probably not because you probably don't have time!!
It is a show about a family raising sextuplets and twins. 8 kids!!!
Every year they have a day out for each kid. This is a day where each kids gets pick one special thing they want to do with mom and dad. Thought it might be a good idea for your kids when they get a little bit older.
