Excuse Me, but is that Chocolate on your Face?

Several of you have noticed our Minnesota Vikings gear (from the pic in the right column) that we so affectionately sport from time to time.

To answer some background questions:
Joe was born in New Ulm, MN and the majority of his family is from Rochester, MN. My in-laws are both graduates of the University of "Minnnesooooooootah"...and have the grooviest Northern accents! Every once in a while I can catch Joe saying something like: "CAAAH-ledge" (college) or "yAAAH" (yah)---doesn't really give you the same effect when you see it in words, does it? Oh well, you get the point. Talk about a family FULL of sports fanatics! ---and MN teams??: (Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves)...Don't even get me "staah-ted".

A funny thing that keeps happening on a daily basis:

The other day as I held Savannah in my lap, she kept staring at my chin as if I had something on it. Her eyebrows were all furrowed and she looked perplexed. She kept touching my chin and then would stick her fingers in her mouth...and kept repeating the process several times. When I finally figured out what she was doing, I laughed so hard I almost wet my britches!

No Sav...sorry to disappoint you, but that is NOT chocolate!...I'd like you to meet some extremely close friends of mine: Mr. Mole and Ms. Freckle...we've been through a lot

(That's what I get for having a daughter who loves sweets as much as her mother! YIKES!)

I was shocked when I read your blog today! I live in northeast Iowa, about an hour away from Rochester, MN and I have a brother in law and a cousin who live in Rochester and another brother in law who live in one of the suburbs of Rochester! Small world!!

That is so hysterical!! BUT just wait until she is about 4 or 5 and can talk really good and says to you, "Hey Mommy, what is that really ugly brown thing on your skin? It looks like poop!" And she says it in the loudest voice possible in the middle of a restaurant!!!

I get it back, however, if I stay long enough when we go back to visit.

My freckle is on my nose, and I think it looks like chocolate, but several folks have pointed out in a whisper that I dod indeed have a little boog. Sadly, I am never able to wipe it off.

So good to see my fellow ... shhhh ...jugoju.

Very cute. Boy you sure go all out for your teams. Wish I knew something about sports to support one! I just have to pretend I'm a Cowboys fan, since that's my hubby's team. (It's kinda hard being a Sacramento Kings fan these days).

You look maaaahvelous, choco on your chin or not!

Hi Suz, Don't know if your remember me but I worked with you at Surgery Center of Arlington right when you first found out about the quads. Anyhow I was wondering if I could get your information to one of my Nursing school classmates. She found out yesterday she is having triplets. The thing is it happened naturally. No drugs or invitro or anything. Apparently she dropped two eggs during her cycle and one split making three babies. She is freaked out beyond belief but I figured you might be able to offer words of encouragement. I Love your Blog and watching your kiddos grow. Thanks,

Annie Greer

My daughter calls freckles, zits, a spot of spaghetti sauce etc. "booboos" or "bobo." She points out my skin imperfections daily. Pretty funny. But she doesn't try to eat them. =)

Hello from MN! Sorry if I posted twice, I think I goofed the first time. Love the Vikings gear. We're in the Twin Cities, my mom's side is from Rochester so that's a second home to me.
My hubby's roots are Texas (he's a UT grad...sorry :)), and we lived in Austin until I made him move to the tundra 3 years ago to be close to family.
Your family is beautiful and I've been a blog stalker since the beginning! Our daugher is only a few weeks younger than your babies so it's fun to compare notes.
By the way, the high is -5 up here today...stay in TEXAS! :)

I know you do not know me but I found your blog threw another blogger buddy and I love reading your blog. My daughter and your 4 are only one day apart. I was wondering since they are the exact age... what books do they like to be read. You mentioned Savannah loves books so maybe you can help me. Everytime I try to read to my daughter she tries to run away ha ha or gets up after page two. So if you have time and do not mind would you please give me some book tips.

Thank you so much
Brittney in MS

I'm not sure which was funnier that she thought it was chocolate or that she tried to wipe it off with her spit! Guess she was imitating her mommy:) Love following you and your adorable family!

Suzanne said...

jac and jen--sorry! i forgot to answer that. the sippy cups we use are Nuby. i have gotten some at Babies R Us, as well as Target! the kids love them and they are easy to hold when their little fingers get greasy---and they can hold with one hand, which is great. hope this helps!
