New Years 2010

Well, we were supposed to have a blast ringing in the New Year with some of our favorite peeps in Houston---the Goerlich quads! (pic from 7/09)

However, days before we were to leave, the Goerlich clan was running fevers and feeling under the weather...so we had to postpone our party by a couple of weeks. Ironically, the night we all decided to postpone the trip is when the Steece crew started feeling icky as well!

So, here we were, stuck at home with a bunch of sickies on NYE. We decided to suck it up, bundle up the kids, load up the car and head on over to the Grand Prairie Lights (that had been closed on Christmas Eve). Not to mention, Sav kept asking: "See Christmas Lights, Mama?"

Click HERE for pictures of the amazing holiday drive-thru light park with 4 million lights!

Halfway through the drive, there is a holiday park with rides, "park food" (funnel cakes, corn dogs, etc), and a light show! This is our little fam (huddling by the warmers) about to watch the light show. "Alright guys, on the count of 3, say, 'deer in headlights!'" (Joe, Sav, Ethan, Drew, Me, and Ben)

PERFECT!

It was freeeeezing (yes, I realize that means it was probably only 20 degrees for us Texans...go ahead and poke fun, you northerners!) and snowing/raining/sleeting. We gathered around some tables in the big tent while Dad purchased some fresh-popped kettle corn! (Sav & Ethan in front, Ben & Drew in the back)

YUMMO!

Loved this view of Joe walking back to the burb while snowing, with Ben and Sav. She insisted on holding the popcorn. Such a mess.

and there you have it! I have spent the last 2-3 years in bed by 10-10:30pm on NYE. How sad is that?! My, my...how our lives have changed!

And we can't wait to travel on down to Houston with the quads (for the first time) and see all of our friends in a couple of weeks!--especially once we've all had a chance to recover from the holidays and get WELL!!!!

I love your crew! The pic of Joe with Ben & Sav...heartmelting - those are my favorites. I will NEVER let anyone take a picture of my butt...but I enjoy looking at other peoples - that sounds weird (you know what I mean).

Happy New Year!

Glad you all got out before the sickies took over the house! So sad you didn't get to ring in 2010 Quaddie style but hopefully you will all be on the mend soon my friend! Thinking of you all! Hugs!

Burr, y'all all look so cold! I love that y'all were able to go back to Grandprairie to see the lights. The quads look so cute, all bundled up. Sorry your plans were ruined to go to Houston. I have to tell you, I'm in awe of how much y'all travel with four kids. We have family in Houston and Austin and we only go about twice a year (to each). And we only have twins! I'm not a fan of packing up, coming home and doing a lot of laundry. lol! My husband travels a lot for his job so the last thing he wants to do is travel on off time.
I hope y'all get to go visit your friends soon!

Ahhh, we are still so bummed that everyone got sick and went and ruined our NYE plans! We miss you! It's going to be so much fun to see you soon. Hope your crew is all feeling better - we're definitely on the up & up over here. Humidifier, saline & dimetapp are no longer at an arm's length!

By the way, I think Cohen thinks there are 5 little ones coming to visit: Ben, Sav, Ethan, Anne, Drew. :)
