Here are the little munchkins on their first day of school for this 2010-2011 school year. (Ethan, Sav, Ben, Drew)
Was this really the best picture you could take, Suz? No. I’m just deathly afraid of yellow jackets/wasps/bees and I abruptly moved this photo session indoors…due to a VERY pesky and aggressive early morning visitor. gah.
“Dinaco”- the blue race car, made it to school with Ethan for the day---he had a kung-fu-like death grip on it, so I chose not to win that battle on the first day of school…as a favor to his teachers, of course. ;)
Gosh…they are looking SO big and grown up lately! (SUPER nice that they can put on their own backpacks and walk up to school like big kids).
I never work on the first day of school…and its almost a cruel taste of what life COULD be like with hours of uninterrupted solo-time. (Don’t get me wrong- I absolutely LOVE work…crave it, really).
But it was absolute bliss to stop by Starbucks on the way home, pick up my all time FAVORITE seasonal treat, and enjoy it in a quiet, childless house. If you haven’t tried a Pumpkin Spice Latte, my friends, you have not lived. (throw in a Pumpkin Cream Cheese muffin and you will have just found your new “happy place”). Joe makes fun of how much I LOVE these two items. Sure I just met my quota of calories for the entire day, but I was happy as a little lark for those 30 minutes. ;)
Besides, it didn’t make the massive pile-o-clean-laundry such a headache to fold. ;)

You are just cruel mentioning Pumpkin Spice Lattes when I recently moved a full hour away from the nearest Starbucks :( Luckily I am heading into the city on Friday and will now have to indulge this wicked craving that came up as soon as I read this post :) MMMMMM, Yummy!
So been there done that! I have always worked when my girls went to MDO/preschool, enviously watching other mamas go to lunch/movies/tennis etc. :) So grateful that I have a job that I truly love and am passionate about and I get to help people every day, it doesn't get much better than that! Good for you for taking a day to yourself!!! My girls are all finally in school together all day every day and I miss the little boogers! I still work but only 2 days a week and the other 3 I try to find something to keep myself busy, which usually means I am volunteering at their school!!! It is great to be on this side, but I am sure glad to pick them up at 3pm every day!! Enjoy it....I may need a PSL tomorrow...its a work day!! :) I am SO hoping that they bring back the Caramel Brulee' :)
Hey, you have the same couch as us! I can tell because of the giant pile of laundry on it.
I found a copycat recipe and I make those muffins annually...everyone LOVES them except me. I'm not a pumpkin fan.
I also LOVE me some Pumpkins Spice Latte...don't need one, but now I might have to head there in the am to enjoy!!
CUTEST 3 year-olds I've ever seen! Their outfits are sooo cute, I bet your 4 are all their teachers favorites : )
haha, you make me feel better about my massive pile-o-clean-laundry that's on my bedroom floor. Maybe I'll go to Starbucks tomorrow and power through it :)
Mmmm those are my favorite tooooo!!! =)
They look so darn cute! I hope they had a great day!
I got so excited by the pumpkin returns that I had the same two items yesterday! Then I almost fainted when I added the calories in my "lose it" app. Yikes!
Cute pic of the kiddos! Love Savannah's outfit. Especially the shoes, care to share where you found these items?? My little girl would love those shoes!! She is 3! And a total girl who loves shoes already!!
aww! thanks SM~ i LOVE getting sav's shoes at the gap outlet! so cheap and adorable. bought her some navy with green jewels as well. lots of cute stuff there right now. the shirt was an Easter dress from Grammy that she has outgrown quickly---so i paired it with some super cute brown/cream/pink leggings that i found at target. (target has a TON of cute girl clothes right now)

Suz - seeing your 3 year old quads so healthy and happy is so encouraging. Would you mind venturing over to this blog http://sondra-quadrupleblessings.blogspot.com/
She is a friend of my cousin's and just had quads. They are stable, but one is very sick. The family is just asking for prayers. I would appreciate it :) Thank you for sharing your story with us.
It is nice to see your amount of laundry that is not folded! I have about 20 loads of laundry stuffed in about 6 laundry baskets down in the basement....I just NEVER have time! At least its clean, right? Just have to iron EVERYTHING we wear ;)
I love Sav's outfit!!!!!!!!!!! SO CUTE!
I LOVE the Pumpkin Spice Latte! Didn't know it was out already, but you better believe that I'm gonna go get one today! And I have been following your blog for quite some time, and it's so crazy how big your kids have gotten- SO ADORABLE!
They are all so adorable! I love pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks and that muffin looks insanely delicious. There is nothing to put you in the mood for fall more than pumpkin.
Despite it being almost 10pm, I feel the need to run to Starbucks NOW! That looks/sounds delicious! And you definitely deserved that with that pile of laundry looming!!
Guess what? I went to our Starbuck's today (Tyler, TX) for that muffin....and they don't have those here. :( I'm so sad! LOL!
Steph - I didn't realize it was possible to be that far away from a Starbucks?
Suz - School? Seriously? They are all nerds just like you, but that's ok cuz the kiddos are pretty cool like you, too. You know what beats pumpkin at setting the mood for fall.....FOOTBALL!!
Much love! Chris
I have that same couch but it is green! Honest if I had the camera on me I could turn round right now and see the exact shot with exactly the same height laundry pile. They looked so cute running up the path to school, you should be very proud.
Unfortunately I do not have a Starbucks at hand to grab a hot choc to get me through sorting the pile out!
Good for you! So glad you got your Starbucks on! Hope you truly enjoyed every moment of that quiet time!
Im so excited about hte pumpkin spice!!! yay!!!!!!!!!!! love your blog! im a new follower and your children are just precious! im just in awe of how you do it x4!!!!
This is the second post I've read today about pumpkin spice latte! Also, it looks like the latte and the muffin are doing the laundry folding for you!
My son LOVES anything pumpkin with Pumpkin Spice Lattes right at the top of his list. When he comes home from boot camp in 6 weeks - I'm going to buy him one every morning that he's here. Can't wait!!!
they are just darling! preschool is so exciting for all! thanks for sharing.
Hi Suz! I'm not sure if I ever commented or not but I have been reading your blog for a while. You have such a beautiful family! I also love the McNulty blog. You can check out my blog at cookfamily-maddie.blogspot.com. I wanted to see if you could help me out. I entered my 2 month old in a baby contest to win a free photo shoot. I thought there would be a lot more entries, but there are only 34. I wanted to see if you would vote for her at neworleansbabyfest.com and click on the cutest baby tab and vote for Avery C, #13. Voting ends Sept 17th and you can vote once a day. You can also go to new orleans baby fest 2010 on facebook and find her picture and click "like" to count as a vote. I know you have a lot of followers and friends so maybe she can get a lot of votes! Thanks!

That is an excellent *mom rule* that I plan on adopting (no work on first day of school). Thanks Suz!
