FAT SUZ!!!

So, I'm the type of gal who tries to find humor in the crappiest of situations. There are many things about this pregnancy that I am having to take with a grain of salt (Right, isn't that the cliche? I don't understand the literal meaning of it, but I'm going to use it).
Things such as: not being able to walk around and be out and about like a normal pregnant woman, not being able to exercise..at all, not being able to eat a nice fresh crisp salad and nothing more, not being able to get into a bikini and go to the beach/pool/river/lake, not being able to get up to go to the refrigerator to grab something to drink (it is very hard for me to be waited on- hand and foot)...you get the picture?

But I guess, the funniest of them all, is the 170 pounds that I now weigh and seem to be carrying all in my face! It's hilarious! I'm about halfway to my weight goal between 60-70 lbs. Many of you don't really know me on a personal level, but to those close friends of mine..these pics are hysterical to me! I mean really, sometimes you just gotta laugh! Joe and I were both laughing as we looked through these pics from our party last weekend...and I tried to start you off with the worst one I could find! Enjoy! or should I say, Bon Appetit! ;) hee hee

"yum....tissue paper...is it edible? Give me food!"

Adriane and Suz, best friends since birth. (a little side note: both of our mothers are identical twins, and our moms happen to be best friends too...they are like my second family and I've seriously grown up with Ade my whole life: church, school, you name it). Isn't she adorable?

Ah yes, the Steece brothers...how could I NOT put a pic of them in here? The uncles of my children. This is pretty much your typical Steece bro pic: Dan doing something stupid..ALWAYS, Joe either looking at Dan or trying to copy him so he can be funny too, and Ed...sweet Ed, just smiling/laughing at the camera like, "yep, these are my goofy bros..but I love 'em" (just as I do)

Jenn, Molly, & Pam...the two ladies on the right were the gracious hostesses of this shin-dig, two of our best friends that we had to leave in Houston. :( Thanks again for the party, ladies! We had so much fun...even if I was glued to the sofa the whole time! :) Another side note: Aren't all of you pregnant women just LOVING the new summer fashion? Gotta love those baby doll shirts that make everyone look like they are wearing maternity clothes! LOVE IT.

Going over color palettes for the nurseries. Did I mention that Ade and her fam (full of decorating genius) are going to paint our nurseries and decorate them for us? Super excited!

Oh, and BTW, my doctor's appointment went well yesterday...I have been granted another week at the house! Hooray!! My cervix has lengthened out a bit and is holding strong for the time being. My babies are active and my amniotic fluid levels are good. However, the doc said to remember to bring a packed bag to every appointment, just in case it's that time again...to be hospitalized. So keep those fingers crossed through next Wednesday!

I am glad things are going well for you! Don't worry about the weight... I am sure you will be running it off soon enough :) You look great in your pics and I bet you racked up some wonderful gifts. Take Care!

This was the funniest post I've read in a LONG time! You are adorable! Okay, so here is my theory on what "grain of salt" means. We know things taste better with a little salt on them, right? So those lovely things that are hard to take or deal with, are easier to swallow with a "grain of salt". That may be totally wrong, but that is what I think it means anyway!
Keep growing those babes!

Suzanne,

First of all, I have to say that your positive attitude and willingness to find the humor in everything that life brings your way has got to be one of the reasons why God chose you & Joe to bring quads into this world! You will need those same positive vibes and humor to get you through the next 18+ years and I look forward to following the ride via your blog:) You are a beautiful mama-to-be and I totally give you kudos for sharing these moments with us (many who don't know you in person). Love the pic of Joe and his bros....looks like your 3 boys will have some entertaining role models!
Glad to hear the dr. appt went well and another week at home!

Glad to hear you are still a couch potato! I know it's not easy there, but girl, it's so much better to stay put as long as possible and stay out of the lovely hospital gown! Don't worry about the weight, it drops off easier than it goes on - those babies are eating every morsel you give them. We are cheering you on all the way!

You look great! I had a teenager point at me on Sunday and asked her friend beside her if I was having triplets. At least if you get those comments you can say, "Actually there are four in there." I just wanted to punch the little punk in the face:)
Yea for one more week at home. Let your mama spoil you rotten right now! Love you

Love the new pictures :) You look great...and come on now, you're having 4 babies!! Give yourself a break on the gaining weight thing, haha!! Still praying!

You crack me up and are still beautiful! It's extra beautiful actually, knowing it's all for your babies. I'm glad they're taking over with your nurseries, and I know it will be so adorable! I'm SOOOO glad to hear that your cervix is doing better!!

Suzanne, I may not have known you before or ever met you personally, but you look BEAUTIFUL both pregnant and not! I could see the difficulty in not being able to do anything right now but lay around and get help from others, but at least you know it won't last forever! Now go eat some ice cream for me! YUM...

Hey, Suzanne. Hooray!! Great news from your doctor's appointment. I was thrilled to hear it. We haven't met, but (as many others are), I'm following you as a result of the Murray quad blog. I check your blog every day for an update. You are in my prayers EVERY DAY ... multiple times a day. As a mom of twins, I can also tell you that the weight will drop off a LOT faster than you put it on. I'm so busy with my boys that I weigh less than I did before I was pregnant. And I got enormous ... thanks in part to some very lovely swelling that left me with huge cankles! That took WEEKS to go away. I also swore by the "When you expecting twins, triplets or quads" book. I think it's fantastic. Anyway, you are BEAUTIFUL ... pregnant or not!

First of all, I LOVE the quads bedding you guys picked out!! It's too cute and I love those colors!! You are so optimistic about everything...those babies are lucky to be born into such a fun-loving, Christian family. Keep up the eating...you look great!

Suzanne-
You look just precious! Yes, it is depressing to watch your body go from pre-pregnancy firm to post-pregnancy flab! However, you are such a tiny person and once you get those babies safely here, I guarantee you will get your old body back (with a few minor adjustments). I've always heard that it took 9 months to gain the weight, so it's going to take 9 months to lose the weight. You are so beautiful! You just radiate! Good luck sweetie! Shauri

I laughed the entire time! My face got chubby when I was pregnant and honestly, I was the only one who it bothered! I didn't care about my swollen feet or heartburn...I just wanted to find out a good position to turn my face during pictures. Love ya!

You look so cute! Gaining for multiples is no fun but it is so worth it in the end. Wanna be real adventurous??? Take a tape measure and measure your waist (around the babies). They always measure you down but not around. Oh, it will make you laugh! I did it the day before I went into labor and it was crazy to be bigger than what I remember my daddy's Levi's saying as a kid! It's something to brag about when you get back to "normal". BTW...I got to 48 inches! HAHAHAHAHA!

With enough salt, that tissue paper just might taste good...maybe not. Thank you for the giggles I got from your pictures and your awesome attitude. I think of you every night while I eat my ice cream!!!

Like everyone else has already said...you look great! I am impressed at how beautiful and happy you look. It was very sweet of your friends to throw you the shower...and I am sure it was nice for you to "dress up". We are praying for you...daily!

I agree with the blogger who suggested measuring AROUND your waist. I carried twins for just under 35 weeks and I measured a whopping 55 inches! That was Christmas day and I delivered New YEars day. You look absolutely great. Just radiant. You are blessed to have such good friends and family to walk along this path with you. Keep up the good work!

You know what? I had to go back to the doctor for a follow-up 10 days after the boys were born, and I had already lost 50 pounds!! (Just almost back to where I had started.) I was all babies and fluid! You seem pretty healthy, so I'm sure you'll be like that as well. Don't fret the weight; just fatten those babies up!! With the puffiness, bed rest, and all of this-- like you said-- ya' just gotta laugh! Reading your blogs is almost nostalgic for me, even thought it wasn't long ago that I was there. I am thinking more and more about writing a book of my funny moments and mishaps of bed rest-- like asking Jon to dust the ceiling fan almost daily. I mean, I was staring off at it several hours a day! hahaha... TRY to enjoy these moments!

Gig em and God bless!

-Amber S.

P.S. Have you started "the wave" yet? Ya' know-- where you have to wave your arms to build up the momentum to get yourself up to go pee? hehehehe

OK It has got to be a family trait. When I get large (currently) during or not during prego stages my face is the first thing that SWELLS... When I start to exercise and get active to drop all that yuck, my face and neck are the first places I drop it from. I know what you mean. I just wish the rest of my MASS would drop in size as fast as my face and neck. Needless to say the USAF was not very nice about the weight issue and when they did my BMI by taping...well, I am sure you get the picture. With as active as you were before, you will not have a problem dropping those lbs. I am so glad that you had a great time while putting your feet up at your shower, that the dr appt. went well, and your nurseries will be taken care of by those that love you, Joe, and Babies.. I wish I could be there to visit with you and help out everywhere you need... (even the ceiling fan if needed.......Amber S. Post...hehehehe.. It bugs me too but I don't have to look at it all day either) but work and babies here would not allow it so for now I will continue to send my prayers, love, and thoughts via Christ... Hang tough and enjoy your moms lov'n...Once comes babies, it will change... Your parents love you but they just can seem to ever get enough of the grands...And you just thought they used all their love on you...hehehehe.......

Suzanne,
You have such a great attitude about your weight gain, and I love that you share candidly with us. Who knew how much someone with quads is supposed to gain? I was never told how much to gain with my twins and at the end I was actually told I needed to eat more. That was a first for me! I love the picgture of you "lounging" on the couch and the one of the "uncles". I can only imagine the fun you'll have with your children, Suzanne. My twins just turned 18 months and I posted then and now pictures on my blog. It might be fun for you to take a peek and just see half of what you have to look forward to as the babies grow. I'm so glad to hear that your appointment went well. I'll keep praying you get to stay out of the hospital as long as possible, although it's really not that bad (I think I've told you before I spent 10 weeks in the hospital), especially if you can wear your own clothes, like I did.

The bedding is adorable, it must be new, I would have picked it! Your title does not flow, doesn't go together at all. You will lose that weight so quick, I have kept up with all of your posts, slow to comment these days. I wish we lived closer so I could come entertain you while you are on bedrest!

I have been so amazed with your positive outlook during this journey! I think your faith and joy is an inspiration to everyone who reads your blog. You look beautiful, and what a blessing to be granted another week. We will pray that the doc will say the same thing next week!

I think I've posted before, not sure! Anyway, I found your blog through the Murray Blog. I found their blog through my multiples e-newsletter. I now read both blogs frequently.

I don't know you, but I think you're a great person. I'll pray for you. Best wishes to you and good luck on your next dr.'s appt.

Pictures are great. I enjoy reading your blog. Thanks for sharing.

I meant to tell you--When I had my twins (2 days after Christmas) my stomach measured 48 inches around! I loved it! If I wore all red I could have played Santa Clause in the mall!
I loved it though! I carried them 39 weeks --and I look back now at the pictures and just smile thinking about the wonderful pregnancy that I was blessed with! Love and prayers--Erika

I am from Uvalde, my parents are still there and my dad told me a few weeks ago that you were pregnant with quads. Apparently everyone from Uvalde is praying for your family.
