So, the other day Joe and I were on the computer while the kids were playing in the other rooms. I hear: "...siete...ocho..." and stop in my tracks.
"JOE! Did you hear that?!?! Drew is counting in Spanish! What tha..."
You see, we are learning our ABC's, letter recognition, colors, shapes, counting to 20 (in English), small addition and subtraction, etc. I have not been working with them on their Spanish. It must have all come from watching Dora the Explorer!
Sure enough, when I asked the kids to count in Spanish--they all jumped right on in there! Even BEN!---(who is delayed in his speech). SOOO proud of him, especially!
Here is some video proof of my little bilingual babies: (Drew, Ben, Ethan, Savannah)
Savannah was so cute in that last part...and I love how Ethan could care less about what was going on (car-in-hand, of course).

So cute! And your southern draw cracks me up. It took me a second to realize that you were saying "Ben" and not "bien", haha!
GOOD JOB KIDDOS!
We love Dora too!
My daughter knows more spanish than my husband and he's hispanic!
Not all tv is bad! :)
Thats fabulous! Look at them! What smarty pants!
See, not all tv is bad!!! lol
How adorable!!
Love Diego and Dora! My little guy learned alot from them when he was younger! :)
They are so stinking cute and smart!!
Love that video! They are super cute counting in Spanish...
I am a Spanish girl who's been reading your blog for more than one year, I think I haven't leave a comment yet... but this cute, lovely video...
It's great that since really young they learn other languages.

How precious! Good for them :-)
That video was beyond cute. Good job you little smarty pants Steeces! Bien hecho :)
Ryan would rather have a colonoscopy than watch "Dora", so naturally Clara LOVES her and asks to watch every day! He he! He tries everything to get her interested in something else, but she usually says, "No, daddy, I want Dora Splora!"
I think it is a cute show! Do your kids say, "Swiper, no swiping!"?
Little Dora-fan cuties!
ahhhh, could they be any cuter, I think NOT!!! Love the retake of the video because of the squabble over the toy, so many people wouldn't have shown that part, that's why I love your blog!!!!!
So adorable!
Do you use any kind of special toys or tools to help teach them letter and number recognition?
So cute!! Great job kiddos!!
omg. that is fabulous! i love how sav chimed in there on the second try. adorable.
my daughter who is now 3, learned several spanish words from dora. we were on the playground once, and she followed a hispanic-looking girl around saying, "esperar, esperar!! wait, wait!!"
gotta love it.
My granddaughter often surprises us with her use of Spanish words. I know it's because she loves Dora & Diego.
Love the video!
We are raising our twins bilingual (I'm Hungarian, Daddy is American) and I can tell you that I'm impressed with this video! Such cute kids, it's incredible. Pleasure reading and following you guys...
Oh my goodness!! That is just about the cutest thing ever!! They are soooo smart! I would love to have them in my kindergarten class!!
I love your blog and have never commented before, however, this post is it! I have identical twin boys that are 2 1/2 who are in LOVE with Dora, Boots, & Swiper. The problem: we have finally finished potty training and I take them to target to pick out big boy underwear and they was the Dora panties! Why oh why!?! After a meltdown, we took the Diego underwear and sprinted out of the store :)
My niece also has learned that from Dora. Too cute!!
That is adorable!
I love how little kids are better at pronouncing Spanish words than most of us adults since they learn by ear alone(I know it's the case with my kids!).
First time commenting - your family is too cute. :)

Love it ! So cute.
When we lived in Spain (Hubby was in Navy) Another lady who was real new to the base knew how to ask Donde esta la playa ? She credited it to Sesame street !
Bien!!! :)
That is so precious! You and Joe are such great parents!

Gotta LOVE Dora is right! Such a smart little bunch! Too cute!!! The whole time Meredith was watching this she kept asking what Nathan was doing? She always thinks Ben is her Nathan!!! So funny! I think the idea of another set of quads has her TOTALLY baffled!
SO SO CUTE!! Thanks for sharing!
okay tell me what/how/plan of attack you are going to use to teach your kiddos! i am wanting to start my 2 year old on something "homeschool-ish" and have no idea where to start!
They are just too darn cute!! LOVE it! And I gotta admit, Dora isn't that bad~my 18 month old (she has older siblings) goes around singing D D Dora all the time!! :)
Do you teach randomly throughout the day/week or do you have a specified time where you sit down with them and work on ABC's and numbers, etc? Just curious what works best for you! :)
